Vorbis.com translation to French
Hi, (First of all, sorry if I'm not posting to the right list) I have begun translating the vorbis.com website (very useful resource for beginners) to French. I've made up a tarball[1] with the current results. To go on translating, apart from tons of bravery for the looooong lists of software, I'd need the "sources" of the images used on the website (such as

ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi, I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora, icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2. I read the thread http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0. Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

Asterisk Language Status
In putting together the SoundPack code, I am looking at the various language/locale specific code, and wondering how it all really stands... So, share with me, non-English speakers, what is your experience and impression? I heard a few comments during AstriDevCon, that some of the languages are not quite right; some said their language was understandable, but... Would anyone be willing to share

Unnecessary apostrophe in English base::summary() NA count output?
Hello, this is quite a minor issue but as summary() is in all likelihood one of the most widely used functions in R I decided to email this list. When producing a count of missing values, summary() in English generates an unnecessary and grammatically incorrect apostrophe (NA's rather than NAs) in its table header. For example: > summary(c(1,2,NA,3,4,NA)) Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean

Delay on failed pw attempts
Hi, Is there a way, or can a way be added, to add an "auth_failed_delay=10s" style option that would put in an artificial delay after a failed password attempt? As it stands now, Dovecot seems highly vulnerable to widescale brute-force password dictionary scans. Even if it's not configurable, can a delay be hardcoded to something like, say, 10 or 15 seconds? -- Dean Brooks dean

Currently what I do: 1. create a xml with the vm configuration (this will include a path to the iso image) 2. connection.defineXML(<my_config>) 3. vm = connection.lookupByName(<domain_name>) 4. vm.create() This will

scaling and optim
?optim says, in describing the control parameter, 'fnscale' An overall scaling to be applied to the value of 'fn' and 'gr' during optimization. If negative, turns the problem into a maximization problem. Optimization is performed on 'fn(par)/fnscale'. 'parscale' A vector of scaling values for the parameters.

workaround assigning domain group permissions on PDC clients
This is far from being elegant but it works... Target: assigning domain wide group permissions on members (client) of a Samba PDC. Steps: 1a edit the file pointed by username map add existing_Unix_group1 = "Domain Users" 2a log on a client with administrative privileges assign to a dir/disk permission to the "Domain Users" being carefull to select
