https stream play 1 second and stop
Thanks for your response Michel. I encode with Omnia AX/E Software so that it can be processed a bit and it has built in MP3 Encoders. I believe it is happening to all my streams, but I only use the mp3 codec. Was encouraged to hear that I wasn’t the only one having an issue and look forward to some trouble shooting thoughts. I do not build my own packages so whatever OpenSSL version is in

https stream play 1 second and stop
I have the same issue occur on a windows server 2008 running 2.4.3 and recently upgraded to 2.4.4 I don’t know what open ssl was packaged with it. It seems to run fine for a week or two and then all of a sudden it starts this same issue of playing one second and then stopping. Restart the service and it works fine for another week or two. But only an issue on https, the http streams are fine.

players who cannot handle switching to a fallback mount point?
Hi Paul, Thanks for the quick response! We use the same type of encoder (Sam Cast) both live for both mountpoints on 96 Kb Joint Stereo. it is difficult to see if it is exactly the same. Is there a player that show exactly this? I will check this. We have use the limit-rate in our config. Thats work better for go to play the last fallback-mount file (i test this). See here our part of the

players who cannot handle switching to a fallback mount point?
Hi, We use Icecast version 2.4.4 and use mountpoint /main and include use fallback-mount. When the /main is offline 92% of the listeners go to fallback-mount and 8% disconnect. The format is 96k AAC and we have 8 mountpoint and 8 fallback-mount points include extra fallback files AAC. Are there any players who cannot handle switching to a fallback mount point? dir.xiph.org : OPUS stream wrongly identified as Vorbis
Hello, We started to publish an OPUS stream amongst others on our Icecast streaming server. That's cool, we're muxing it in an Ogg container, it works well ! So this is just a remark : as the Icecast shows its type as "application/ogg", it may be the reason why the Icecast directory shows this as an Ogg Vorbis stream although it's an Ogg OPUS one. Any idea how to correct

Icecast on my website
No flash player can fetch the embedded metadata due to security restrictions concerning non-standard request headers which is required in order to get the embedded metadata. A patch for ice cast to allow this however is quite possible, perhaps a config directive that tells icecast not to wait for the specific request header and send the embedded metadata regardless of the icy-metadata header will

Server Side Spot Replacement?
Thank you Phillip, my first time here. What I want to achieve is to replace ads in a live ad break on live streamed radio with personal spots for each listener. I want to recognize the start of the break, split listeners into separate streamed spots and then back again to the live stream when the spots has been played. The main goal is to offer programmatic data driven ads on streamed radio and

Auto rotation on day/hour or dump possible?
Hi Philipp, Thank you, thats good news that the log on date rotation is in the new version 2.5. And can you indicate what you are waiting for before making it the stable 2.5 release? And in which version of openssl does this problem no longer occur? Sorry for straying from the original question :-) Best regards, Michel > Op 26-06-2023 17:11 CEST schreef Philipp Schafft <phschafft at

Auto rotation on day/hour or dump possible?
Hi Philipp, Okay that's also a nice solution rename the log file and reload icecast. Only it may be that the file size has been reached, turning off archive then is this option is the best way! Thanks The wrapper works well so far. And also retaining the original log files. I check the the Linux machine for the ssl problem for 2.4.4 and 2.5 beta. It is Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) OpenSSL

MetaData Update for FLAC and OPUS
It seems, that with FLAC and OPUS streams (not individual files) the song title (meta data) updates do not work. Also the ICEcast admin web interface isn’t working for FLAC and OPUS; while it is working for MP3, AAC as well as OGG streams. I.e. when sending a continuous FLAC or OPUS stream to an ICEcast server, it seems impossible to update the meta data mid-stream (like it works for MP3, AAC

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello- You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server. I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway. We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP, SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC. Server Side Spot Replacement?
Hi Philipp, Thank you for insights and suggestions. Please see my recent answer and questions to Lin in the same matter. I'm talking about thousands of listeners, and individual mounts are probably not the way to go. A dream scenario would be to trigger a move of all listeners at the start of an ad break to a mount with a dynamic scripted playlist of ads playing from a separate CDN. And move
