Updating metadata on Icecast2
Hi,
<p>What parameters should be passed to update the metadata on an Icecast2 server ?
When I do this:

How to troubleshoot admin auth values in url format http://admin:password@icecast.org:1234
Hello,
I'm asking if there is a way to do extra troubleshooting for admin auth, by
adjusting a config parameter (i.e. loglevel), then looking at log files.
Sometimes I can auth properly when trying to update metadata using a url
with basic auth embedded before the server/hostname, requested from a web
browser like google chrome.
i.e.

OPUS/FLAC Metadata
Is this the HTTP call for injecting the “song” metadata?
This is a capture (using RawCap in conjunction with Wireshark) of my AAC+ stream metadata input to IceCast that works fine.
GET /admin/metadata?mode=updinfo&mount=%2FFVHradio_AAC&song=Fox%20Valley%20Hit%20radio%20-%20Hits%20from%20the%20Valley HTTP/1.0
User-Agent: RadioBOSS

Updating metadata on Icecast2
I think if you pass in song=Led+Zeppelin+-+Song+Remains+The+Same then
icecast will interpret the artist and song appropriately...I can't look
at the code from where I am now, but I think this is the case... It
pretty much assumes that Artist and Song are separated by a -...I
believe this was just a temporary solution at the time, but seemed to
work good in general...

players who cannot handle switching to a fallback mount point?
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the quick response!
We use the same type of encoder (Sam Cast) both live for both
mountpoints on 96 Kb Joint Stereo.
it is difficult to see if it is exactly the same. Is there a player that
show exactly this? I will check this.
We have use the limit-rate in our config. Thats work better for go to
play the last fallback-mount file (i test this).

Listener count in stream title
Hi all,
I just wrote this script (attached) which I thought others might find
useful -- it updates the song title of every mountpoint with the current
number of listeners for that mount.
It can be seen in action on http://radio.ethereal.net:8000/stale, where
it runs every minute out of cron.
The script should be self-explanatory, but feel free to write me
privately with any questions or

Icecast status-json.xsl improvements
While http://127.0.0.1:8000/status-json.xsl?mount=/live
is fine for info on the server itself and the current track played it's
missing a played history.
I'd like to suggest adding history to status-json.xsl or to reduce the
size of the json to the bare minimum that a Web base mediaplayer might need
Add a new one at http://127.0.0.1:8000/playing-json.xsl?mount=/live

Icecast Auto DJ
Hello,
I’ve a question. I have a station now with Shoutcast and shoutcast transcoder for 2 bitrates. 192kbps mp3 and 64 kbps aac+.
I want to transfer these to Icecast. I’ve an working icecast server but i need an auto dj that can encode 2 bitrates, 192kbps mp3 and 64kbps aac.
I had a working setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i

Listener statistics on a fallback stream
Hello,
I've come across a small problem and I'm not sure it's a bug or a
misconfiguration in icecast, so I thought I'd ask here.
The situation: we have an automated radio station that is fed from a
dedicated virtual machine with SAM broadcaster. I set up a stream with a
fallback mount; SAM connects to the fallback. Now, whenever the DJ wants
to broadcast live all he has to do is

Thank you Philipp. I'm running icecast 2.4.2 and based on the "Available
Raw Data" in the Icecast docs page (http://icecast.org/docs/
icecast-2.4.0/server-stats.html), it doesn't appear "album" or "year" are
available for the stats-json.xsl file to get. But it may be
misunderstanding what I'm seeing and just don't know how to properly
