7.html is a ShoutCast metadata file did you have a previous ShoutCast
installation or setup a relay between IceCast and ShoutCast stream?

After I enabled SSL, stream mountpoints broke
I'm running Icecast package 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 from ttp://
download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dm8tbr/xUbuntu_14.04.
I've been running on this server for about 6 months now without any issue
and all my streams run great. This icecast server is running on the same
host that my wordpress site is running on. This is all on my own private
server, not a hosting service.

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I
couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've
thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was
something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a
couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly.

Philipp,
Thank you for your quick response. I can't believe that I didn't think of
that...I guess I just assumed that it would use SSL. I'm using Liquidsoap
as my source client. Once you brought that up I started researching
whether there was a way to force Liquidsoap to use SSL and from what I
found it doesn't look like there is an option...but please correct me if
you or

Makes sense. If the Icecast log would also log the

Kicking duplicate connections
Hello fellow mailing list readers,
My question relates to multiple / duplicate connections to the ice cast server from the same IP address.
I am well aware that this is an issue that lies with the music player (listener agent) used by the listener. When a listener connects to the stream, sometimes it appears as two connections to the stream from the same IP address. This may last only a few

I can't start video streaming
Dear Guys;
I am very beginner of Icecast, but I already setup several icecast servers
with MP3 audio music broadcasting with icecast2 (2.4) and BUTT or ices as
source clients. Those are works well for almost one year already.
I tried to make video casting with icecast2 (2.4) and VLC media player as a
source client, but icecast never recognize VLC as a source.
icecast.xml had set just same as I

exposed-port option for Icecast behind reverse proxy
Hello,
I didn't want to have to choose between Icecast running on port 80 and all
my Apache virtual hosts, running also on port 80, on my sole external IP
address.
I didn't want either to open port 8000 on my firewall because I wanted all
users being able to reach Icecast even the ones behind enterprise firewalls.
So I managed to run Apache 2.2 listening on port 80 and Icecast 2.3.2

Hello,
I'm a new user of icecast which is a really cool software.
I use it with the the http proxy module of apache httpd to do port
forwarding with 2 sub domains.
On my router i forward all tcp traffic of the port 80 to my server.
2 Sub domains are redirected to my server :
radio.mydomain.com (icecast)
music.mydomain.com (ampache)
my apache server host the ampache application with a

I think this is related:

"/usr/local/share/icecast/web/index.html" Permission denied
It also seems like you have built icecast from source? Are you sure that
you have installed it correctly? Maybe you've built it as root and then
only made the files readable by root, but icecast is running as the

206 response for Chrome Mobile
Hi -
I'm using Icecast to stream some audio that I embed in an <audio> tag
on a webpage. This is working great for desktop browsers and on iOS,
but it doesn't work on Android.
It looks like Chrome mobile sends the header "Range: bytes=0-1" and
then doesn't try to load any more data when Icecast responds with a 0
byte "HTTP/1.0 200 OK" response. From my

Hmmm .. so not sure I understand what you mean by that. SO basically what I am trying to do is go to http://hostname:8000/. I have attached the error log as well.
Thanks

Marius,
Yes, I think you nailed it. I built it from source and I did as root. And yes I am able to get audio at http://hostname:8000/voice. So now I know what the problem is but not sure how to fix it. A clean install? I kinda messed with the file permissions in the web directory shown below but that didn't solve my problem.
