Okay, a quick question, I've got IceCast 2.3.1 setup on a demo server, And I've got some wierd behavior going on... Here's the behavior: I have my constant feed always running on mountpoint: /switch I have my main stream broadcasting: /stream someone connects to an alternate named stream: /krushradio They pull all the listeners from /switch and /stream to their stream.

Scheduled Ogg streams for testing
Well we're testing scheduled Ogg streaming, but it would be nice to test with an audience bigger then me and a few irc users, so I thought I'd drop a note to the list. http://support.bbc.co.uk/oggstreams.shtml This will contain any scheduled tests to come and anything currently being streamed. For scheduled stuff, only things we're given permission to do by producers can go on

Info on how to display <stream-name> instead of <mount-name> in a media player
Hi, I apologise if this question has been asked and discussed before. If so, please just refer me to the relevant thread, as I am having a hard time finding the answer. I have noticed that on most Shoutcast streams that I have listened to using iTunes, the stream-name is displayed above the artist - title information. The artist - title information then rotates with the url of the stream. I

Latest CVS (7/20/2004) stops answering SIP calls after 5 min
CVS 7/16/04 (the latest one I have b4 today) seems to have this problem too... Anyone else having problems with the current CVS ignoring calls after about 5 minutes of being up? I've also noticed that no matter what I set default_expiry to in sip.conf, it starts at that number and then jumps to 44 seconds... not sure where it's getting the number 44 from, it seems to use that all the

Program needs IE4 installed - how tho handle?
Hi group, I want to install a SW-package. This needs IE4 to be installed. The installation aborts with an error and popups a message, that IE4 needs to be installed before the installation can continue. How can I handle this? Is there a trick that do this? I don't see any advantage of IE4 on my Linux box. Andy.

rsync --link-dest won't link even if existing file is out of date
This has been a consideration. But it pains me that a tiny change/addition to the rsync option set would save much time and space for other legit use cases. We know rsync very well, we dont know ZFS very well (licensing kept the tech out of our linux-centric operations). We've been using it but we're not experts yet. Thanks for the suggestion. /kc On Mon, Apr 06, 2015 at 12:07:05PM

Info on how to display <stream-name> instead of <mount-name> in a media player
Hi, thanks for your reply. So does that then mean that there is no inbuilt mechanism for forcing stream-name to display over mount-name? I run Liquidsoap with iceacst, and I know Liquidsoap is responsible for the artist and title metadata, but I thought that icecast handled the stream name side of things. Any clarification on this would be helpful. D On Tue Jan 8 14:29:21 UTC 2019 0turn1 at

I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to troubleshoot this? I'm on a centos 5.4 machine Linux 2.6.21.7-2.fc8xen #1 SMP Fri Feb 15 12:34:28 EST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64

rsync --link-dest won't link even if existing file is out of date
Feature request: allow --link-dest dir to be linked to even if file exists in target. This statement from the man page is adhered to too strongly IMHO: "This option works best when copying into an empty destination hierarchy, as rsync treats existing files as definitive (so it never looks in the link-dest dirs when a destination file already exists)". I was suprised by this behaviour
