I used to run an internet radio station that was listed on TuneIn! Turned it all off when I took a job with a large internet streaming music service. Multiple auth method problem
Hi, I'm having issues getting the multiple authentication methods of dovecot 1.0-test65 to work correctly on NetBSD. I am combining a MySQL database of virtual host accounts with the system password database of local machine accounts. Both work correctly when enabled on their own, but when enabled together only the one listed first in the "auth default" section of dovecot.conf

Icecast source client with web request/voting for next to play function
Hi all! Thank you for having me. I'm a person who encourage a small local community for musical involvement. It already kinda worked, we are doing plenty of fantastic things together. What I am now thinking of is 24/7 Internet radio based on Icecast that will air all of their non-professional music I gathered. Functions I'm looking for: - frequent scanning of music directory to update

qt3-devel packages
Hi Everyone, I am trying to build rpms for a product called Rivendell for CentOS 4.4 (http://www.salemradiolabs.com/rivendell/) One of the packages requires a package called qt3 and qt3-devel All searches reveal this package to be available for SuSE. Any ideas if this is available for CentOS/EL4? Or a src.rpm that I can use? Thanks for your time. [root at foreground ~]# rpm -ivh

Domain master vs. workgroup master?? (messages about domain master browser)
Can anyone tell me what to do about the messages I'm getting, or should I ignore them? I think my SuSE 9.2 box is configured to expect a doman, and there isn't one, just a workgroup. Most things seem to be working ok, except for the messages: tolkien:/var/log # tail messages Apr 1 00:43:05 tolkien nmbd[3962]: Unable to sync browse lists in this workgroup. Apr 1 00:56:28 tolkien

Icecast relay as a source to another icecast?
I have a situation where I'd like to be able to have icecast reach out to another icecast server as a client. Is this possible with relaying? From what I read relaying and master relaying both have the server reach out to another server. The reason is this. I have a hardware encoder (Telos audioactive) sitting on a cablemodem. I have a remote provider (streamcheap or something) set to

Icecast relay as a source to another icecast?

Apparently Liquidsoap cannot forward an icecast stream without re-encoding. As nutty as it seems, VLC might be the solution with the acopy operator. I need to look into the icecast output plugin to

Icecast source client with web request/voting for next to play function
Hi Kokos The first thing you need is a music play out system. Almost anything can play a random song from your collection; but; you have some conditions you want to place on the play out process. I recommend a program called Rivendell which is free and will do everything you want. http://static.paravelsystems.com/rivendell-install-rd3/rivendell-install-rhel7.html There is a FB group and a

Opus supported source client without transcoding?
Figured I'd join the list since I saw someone else had just popped in looking for exactly the same thing I am (non-transcoding opus streamer for sending multiple .opus files to icecast2). It looks like ices2 would do exactly what I personally need, except for not having been updated to support opus yet. (I chatted on IRC once or twice with someone who it sounds like is interested in adding

Using ardj with ezstream
Hello everybody. I would like to ask a question. Does anybody here know how to use ardj with ezstream? I have been trying to find some documentation on how to get it set up and working properly. But, I cannot find any. So, I hope that one of you knows how to use the software in conjunction with each other, because I would like to set up an intelligent scheduler that includes, jingles, and other

hwclock problem
Hi. I run peridocally (from cron) on all of my machines 30 * * * * root /sbin/hwclock --systohc All of those machines in question take their time via NTP from the same local server, and that server gets its time from a ntp pool. Now I had to reboot a couple of them two days ago and to my surprise all had problems with the time upon booting. Here are the important files: [root at XXXXXX ~]

I suggest reading the man page for 'hwclock'. Namely, the --utc option. If you don't tell your system that the BIOS is stored as UTC, then it will assume it's

Strange issue with system time being off
Hi all, I am having an issue with some older CentOS 5.3 servers. Every time the server boots, it gives the error "Cannot access the hardware clock by any known method", and then promptly sets the time 5 hours behind the hardware clock, down to the second. After the system is up. "hwclock" works fine. hwclock --debug does not show any error at all. The hardware clock is

Updating hardware clock from cron
Is there a package to do this? Normally the hardware clock is set during shutdown if one is running ntpd. But if a long-running server shuts down unexpectedly, this isn't done, and the hardware clock might be off by a lot when it comes back up. So setting it periodically from a cron job could be useful. What do others do? Adding a one liner to /etc/cron.daily that invokes
