Getting the Stream to "Just Start Playing" on the client
Hmmm... Maybe I wasn't clear. This is a public Web site. Some people are using Netscape, most using IE... All different kinds of media players, mostly WinAmp, Real, WMP, and iTunes. What I'm looking for is a way for the media player to be launched automatically. If I choose "Open from this location" from the link, WinAmp DOES open. .pls files *are* mapped to WinAmp, I'd

Hello and Stream Listing
Hello Everyone! My name is John Silvers PD/CE of Pirate Radio 100.3FM (KQLZ Los Angeles) I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. We are switching over from our 2072 Shoutcast streams to Ogg with the help from Dave at Mediacast1. It seems mp3PRO is just not catching on but the I think the ogg sounds way better then mp3PRO and not just one player can hear the difference plus no plug-in to push

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
Anyone have any ideas? It's rather annoying that I can't get these to persist across reboots without using some kind of helper script. Patches - Was: Stream metadata settings
Here I go again. This is the second patch, it adds the ability to override some YP settings on the server. <yp-override>1</yp-override> If this is not set, we don't override the yp flag. <yp-public>1</yp-public> When this is set, the stream will be public or non public, according to it's content. This only works when yp-override is set. It allows to suppress

Have you tried to use NetworkManager ? After all ,anything network related should be done by it. [root at system ~]# nmcli connection add con-name dummy0 ifname dummy0 type dummy ? Connection 'dummy0' (9fdd74fa-c143-4991-9bac-0e542704ac89) successfully added. [root at system ~]# reboot Shared connection to glustera closed. static file streaming
Hi, I have installed the Icecast2 on my Ubuntu Linux and I was not able to figure out how I could stream static mp3 files. Can anybody help me? What should I do to do this? I put the mp3 file in the webroot and I tried to retrieve it with the " http://host:port/try.mp3" URL but I could only download it (as a whole) but not as a streamed media. Do I have to convert the mp3 to another

Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
[Reposted here, silence on the icecast list, is this deliberate?] Once again, I'm clueless as to what is going on because I don't have the source or logs to yp.icecast.org. I am touching yp.icecast.org fine: [14/Feb/2002:01:39:22] directory_touch_xa([yp.icecast.org:80]) completed...server id = 69 but my radio station isn't shown. regression with categorial variables
Hi All, I am working on an example where the electric utility is investigating the effect of size of household and the type of air conditioning on electricity consumption. I fit a multiple linear regression Electricity consumption=size of the house hold + air conditioning type There are 3 air conditioning types so I modeled them as a dummy variable Type A Type B Type C Where type A is the

the dummy playlist... chaining a clip to a stream.
Hello. I have a question. We run a number of public service audio streams. They are picking up in popularity, and it would be nice to take some credit for the bandwidth we are supplying. Lots of people directly linking to us. So I would like to attempt to do something that I've seen done with WMA streams. I would like it so when a listener connects, it plays back a 20 second audio clip

Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
No. Network Manager is always disabled on our builds since at least Cent5 days. The network stack has always been able to be managed properly without relying on Network Manager. Is that now an absolute requirement? It never has been prior. Requirement is a very strong word , but you should consider using it and here is a short demo why: - By default, RHEL uses NetworkManager to configure and manage network connections, and the /usr/sbin/ifup and /usr/sbin/ifdown scripts use NetworkManager to process ifcfg files in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory. [root at system ~]# ls -l /usr/sbin/ifup lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 22 21
