understanding error.log
Hello. A couple questions.
When I execute curl
http://myserver.xxx.xxx:8000/test.mp3 , I get "<b>The
source you requested could not be found.</b>"
I've placed my error.log and icecast.xml files below.
Could someone help me understand my error.log a little
better - to maybe see why I'm not getting a stream
when I make the above curl call.
Also, you'll see in

Ices Spawing Zombie Perl Scripts - Again
So, I finally had some time to go through my scripts and after some poking and
fixing I discovered that there is nothing wrong with my Perl script. It may be
ugly and inefficient but it gets the job done and closes without throwing
errors when run thru perl outside of ices.
However, ices continues to produce the defunct processes, a listing of ices
and icecast2 related material from ps is

Mountpoint "disappearing" ?
Hi,
I'm trying to get the following project to work :
* acquisition from video acqusition card using vlc
* vlc transcode to theora/vorbis and sends it to an icecast2 server
Using VLC to acquire from the device is working ok. I get a stream in
theora/vorbis format with audio & video sync'ed.
Now, when I use VLC to send the stream to my icecast2 server, the
stream mounts, it is

icecast_auth (url authentication)
has anyone tried $subj php scripts located in /examples/ dir?
in my case any authorisation of protected mount seems to be bypassed without any checks. Without any logins or passwords i can listen to locked stream.
also, time control and user access history isn't working - only mounpoints and users are added to mysql database, no user activity is recorded.
i've found some interesting

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
A small update from my side.. i have updated both icecast and libshout to
the nightly snapshot versions of icecast.org. Also, in the configfile i have
raised the threadpool to 500 and all timeouts to 3000.
This did help a bit. Right now i can get it up to 1020 inputstreams, however
then it just stops accepting new connections.
Is there a theoretical maximum to the number of mountpoints icecast

Configuration help with ices 0.3
Well I’ve looked through the configuration file several times and I still do
not see the mistake I’ve made. Icecast 2.0.1 seems to be working just fine
and starts up without problems. But if I try and start ices I keep getting
the error that it cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:8000 because the login failed.
Yet I know the password I gave it is correct so I can only presume there is

Using Access Control Lists with SMB2/SMB3 Mounts on Linux Clients
Could you see if anything useful in the logs indicating why the ACL
was not returned? Instructions are at:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/LinuxCIFS_troubleshooting#Enabling_Debugging
(it is easier for newer kernels due to dynamic tracing e.g. "trace-cmd
record -e cifs" but even with these older kernels it should be enough
information in the dmesg logs - if not a wireshark trace

Very newbie questions
I want to move from a windows media server to
icecast using ogg format streaming files.
I have (I think) setup icecast2 in a /usr/local/icecast
directory with conf, log and web subdirectories all owned by
iceuser.
What I want to do is stream single pre=encoded ogg encoded files to
users by placing url's on selected web pages (this is for
music reserves at our university).
Do I need to use

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
We are using icecast as stream-relay for a true narrowcast solution
we've developed. The idea behind the system is that each individual
client gets it's own mountpoint.
Basically we have an application that creates streams. Its written in
c++ and uses libshout to handle connecting to icecast.
Everything works fine, as long as we keep the number of mountpoints
below 347. As soon as we

Voicemail: don't play vm-intro if custom intro is recorded.
Hi Gang
We migrated our voicemail system from asterisk 13 to 16 a couple of
months ago.
Right after the migration, we got the complaint that vm-intro is being
played when the customer had recorded a own announcement. So I assumed
we had replaced that file by a zero lenght one on the previous
installation and did the same to suppress that surplus intro.
Now I got the opposite complaint: If the

<intro> stream stopt after intro
Hi Guys,
I'm using the icecast-2.1-kh5 for the intro feature. The intro works,
but after the intro it stops. It does not go on
with the stream. When I comment the intro part, the stream works perfectly.
Does anybody know what I can do to solve this problem?

Now it is! It had a different samplerate. Now it works. :-)
Thanks!
