Replacing a few variable values within a DataFrame...
I would like to replace a few varaibles within a data frame. For example, in the dataframe below (contrived) I would like to replace the current housesize value only if the Location is HSV. However, I would like to leave the other values intact. I tried "ifelse", but I don't really need the else condition. test_data2_df<-data.frame(Variables=c("SQR

My external node classifier script is totally ignored
Hi, I just added an external classifier script, and things are not working as I expected to. Trying to read documentation about ext.nodes and searching the archives I couldn''t come up with any useful results. My classifier script outputs: --- YAML --- classes: - geodns::production::backend environment: production name: z01-06-02 parameters: puppet_server:

ffmpeg/ffmpeg2theora &vhooks
Hi theora-list, I'm involved in in a project to redistribute C-SPAN's floor footage from the US house and senate that we're capturing and converting*. This footage is in the public doman, however there's a C-SPAN overlay which is a registered trademark - we're having to overlay a "public domain" graphic on top of it. We're currently doing this with

video streaming
Hi, We're planning to launch a video stream. We do not have anything yet (no camera, no computer, no software, only a Linux server that will do the broadcasting with icecast installed). Has anyone ever done such a thing? What hardware do you suggest? What software can be used (both for Linux and Windows on source side). Can Icecast be used for this video streaming purpose (on server side)?

FFmpeg Theora encoding patch
Hi, Attached is my patch to add theora encoding to ffmpeg's libavcodec (by using libtheora). I am requesting help to fix the bug I mention below and am seeking general comments before I submit the patch properly. Files encoded using this encoder have a problem playing in VLC. The files will not play unless "Drop late frames" has been unticked in the advanced video settings.

ATM with linux router
Does anyone here have experience with an ATM connection from their ISP running into a linux based router? We have a DS3 circuit for which we we thought we could use an SBE wanpci-1t3 card. The isp verified the card would work with their network, but apparantly didn''t cross check the particular circuit they were providing us. Is it possible to do the IP packet <-> ATM cell

USING TOBIT OR WHAT ALTERNATIVE WHEN DATA ARE PANEL AND HETEROSKEDASTIC AND PROBABLY AUTOCORRELATED?
Please, I seek expertise and advice, possibly leads to R packages or stats literature. My data: measurements of economic variables for each county of California over 37 years. My dependent variable is square feet of office floor space permitted to be added in a county. Independent variables include for example change in number of office jobs in same county same year (and lagged years).

an assortment of mail serving issues
Hi All, I moved to a new CentOS6 install after an old CentOS5 server started exhibiting problems. I am having mail serving issues and they are confusing. I am seeing both Sendmail and Zimbra issues. We front e-end out operation with a pfSense box and it has the following mail ports open: 25, 465, 587, 110, 143, 993, 995. We have Zimbra and that also requires 7025 and 7071 be open. This sent

encoder_example input formats
Hi all I have the raw out put of a video camera in following format: mjpegb, yuvj422p, 1920x1080, 24.00 fps(r). I cannot directly convert this raw footage to Theora due to the YUV4MPEG2 only restriction of the encoder_example. Isn't it better to support other raw formats in encoder_example, such as what I have, mjpegb, yuvj422p? I presume even if I convert the mjpegb, yuvj422p to

Elphel's JP4
Hi, just a small follow up of recent discussions about Elphel's JP4 format. I'm working with Andrey and fellows from Elphel to improve support for JP4 format in the context of Elphel's Apertus project (http://www.apert.us). As posted by Basil, on http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=JP4 there is plenty of information about the format and how to post process it to get back your real

Best Way to Import HC-X800 1080 60p/50p MTS to iMovie HD
Panasonic HC-X800 is expert HD camcorder with 3MOS system Pro, shooting 1080 60p/50p AVCHD footage at bitrates of up to 28Mbit/sec and exhibiting outstanding HD images with minimum noise. The HC-X800 records AVCHD MTS videos on P2 card. You may want to edit AVCHD MTS videos you shoot with iMovie. The problem is that iMovie often cannot import and recognize the 60p/50p footages, nor can it accept

Higher quality video - supporting greater than 8 bit color depth
Hi, I was wondering what are this forum's collective thoughts on the best way to support video color fidelity greater than what we have today. I am not a video developer myself. I edit video. A type of problems I come across fairly often, have to do with the limited color depth of the digital video medium. They often manifest themselves as "cartoonish" areas of adjacent flat
