a few more questions...
Hello everyone, I sent the last email prematurely - I had a few more questions. I don't wish to start a holy war here, but are there certain OSs / Distros that are preferred for running very busy icecast servers? We're a Solaris shop currently, but don't mind using linux or BSD if that would make things easier. I see there is a Fedora Core RPM on the icecast page - does that

overlaying prerecorded content over a live stream...
Hello everyone! I've been looking into using icecast to help get some terrestrial radio stations into Internet broadcasting. One of their requirements is that they have the ability to overlay internet-only content over the regional commercials that they run during their programming - ie, during breaks between their normal programming, they don't want ads from their advertisers

ezstream and OSX 10.4.2 Tiger...
Hello again, I'm having a dickens of a time getting ezstream configured - it requires libshout2 - so far so good. I installed the darwin ports library, did a port install libogg and then a port install libvorbis. Now, when I try to do a port install libshout2, configure returns the following. Any idea why it isn't working? Darwinport is configured to install in it's

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Did you really see meta-data? Or did it show data from the playlist- file? Or did you see the data (name and genre) provided in the http- header upon connect? E.g.: http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast- playlist.pls?rn=4219&file=filename.pls Shows "CLUB 977 The 80s Channel (HIGH BANDWIDTH)" in WinAmp. But this is due to the "title" set in the .pls and/or provided in

Maybe it works with WinAmp because peercast is received via a plugin that supports this? http://www.peercast.org/download.php WinAmp 2.x/5.x: - Self-extracting installer - Installs WinAmp plugin client - Enables peercast:// links - Free. No adware/spyware Allan, I assume you have a plugin installed for listening to peercast? Stefan On 7 Apr 2004 at 21:21, oddsock wrote: > At 08:30 PM

I'd really apreciate if someone could check the link supplied to see whether my Icecast server streams correctly, especially to Windows Media Player (it doesn't work for me). Thanks! FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
Great news, but I can't get it to work. Installed the plugin and typed a URL directly into File > Open URL, but it sit's there connecting permanently. I'm using Windows XP SP2, WMP 10. I tried a stream of a customer of mine using an icecast2 server. http://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac This works in Winamp. Regards, Ross Levis ======================================

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all, I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player and the WMP Media Library. The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on Tobias's webpage? After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the Windows Media

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Hi Everybody, It works with Peercast because Peercast receives the headers from Icecast2 and sends its own headers back to the client (Winamp, WMP, Real...). Remember that Peercast is a client AND a server... I guess Peercast doesn't send back the headers in the same way than Icecast2. Maybe Peercast doesn't use ICY/X-audiocast. Talking about Real (v9.0 and 10), I already got the

MP3 MetaData in WMP and RealOne
Hi Stephan, I am talking about the meta-data: Artist - Song. It's weird because you are the second person on the list who doesn't get it working in Real... I just tried again with "BEK_dns" and "Radio Alcanzando Naciones" the 2 first MP3 radios I found in the stream directory and everything worked perfectly for Real (but not for WMP). In RealPlayer, I clicked

Hello, I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.2 and Ices 0.4, configured and started them. The logs show no errors, but while I'm able to stream to Winamp 5, it doesn't work with WMP 9 or 10. The latter simply downloads the file and even halts when it reaches a certain point. This is the mountpoint's URL: http://www.zambra.com:8080/musica Has any of you experienced this

WMP mp3 stream trouble
Hello everyone, I made a big effort to provide an mp3 stream on my site to please the unenlightened masses, and then I see in my logs that it doesn't work in Windows Media Player. Doh! There's no Windows machine around to test on so if anyone could help me out, I'd be very grateful. I couldn't find anything in the list's archive or on the web in general, sorry. Details:
