Shorewall and an inline IDS (snort-inline or hogwash)
Is anyone using an inline IDS like hogwash or snort-inline to drop packets in a system running shoreline? I _think_ I see how to configure it, but I''d be really interested in finding a howto or something... Thanks! Mike- -- Mornings: Evolution in action. RE: Shorewall and an inline IDS (snort-inline orhogwash)
I made an atempt to run snort_inline and shorewall on the same system but I could not get snort to see the packets. Maybe someone with a little more iptables knowledge could tell me what I''m doing wrong or if its possible to have the systems setup so that it places packets that the firewall would allow into QUEUE. After setting up and starting shorewall I then issue the following

File list Performance question
I have a server running SuSE 9.3 (Samba 3.0.13-1.1). The underlying filesystem is xfs, and the NICs are Netgear gigabit. 2 Gb of ram in a P4/3.0 Ghz. The workstations are windows XP Pro, with all service packs installed, on P4 3+ Ghz, 1-2 Gb of ram. (varies a bit by workstation) I have one particular tree on the server that contains over 12K files in a few hundred subdirs. Breaking it up

Help with error message: Can't become connected user
I cannot even start troubleshooting until I buy a clue. What does "Can't become connected user" mean? It shows up fairly often. NFS Exporting / not working ???
I'm fairly certain I'm not losing my mind, but.... I'm a very recent convert from fedora 7 to Centos 5. I had the / filesystem exported and it worked fine. Installed Centos, dropped the very same exports file I was using successfully into /etc, restarted nfs, and it won't allow anyone to access. If you mount it from a different system, the mount succeeds, but no files or

SuSE 9.3 domU /sbin/ifup workaround
Hi all I have a SuSE 9.3 domU. It has a eth0 interface, corresponding to some vif interface in the dom0. Running ifup eth0 doesn''t seem to work. This means I don''t get any network. It seems that /sbin/ifup relies upon /sbin/getcfg but getcfg does not seem to find the right configuration for the eth0 device. A attached a patch below with a work around for this.

[LLVMdev] Operand, instruction
Actually i have to implement strength reduction, for that i have to first detect induction variables using ALLEN-COCKE-KENNEDY algorithm. To find out induction variables, i need the name of the instruction. Thanks for the reply. M2N32, suse 10.3 and network problem
Hi I have an Asus M2N32 WS Pro, 4G Ram, AthlonX264 4600+. I Installed SuSE 10.3 (64bit) on Dom0, LVM on Raid 5. All domU''s boot off LVM, using same Suse 10.3. I have a firewall (fw) domU running shorewall and a domU name-dhcp-server (nds). Somewhere in between 10 and 16 hours the network stalls. In dns, I can see dhcp queries and offers, but these never make it to the clients in the

To find out > induction variables, i need the name of the instruction. I suspect you are confused. Surely you only need a way of referring to each instruction. For this you can use a pointer to the instruction. Ciao, Duncan.

[LLVMdev] getting pointer to CFG object for any given C program
Hi, Let say we have a C program, and we want to get pointer to CFG object for this code in order to traverse basic blocks and do some analysis using CFG object. From my main program main.cpp, how can I get pointer to CFG object if argv[1] = hello.c ? I have seen following places among many in clang/lib or clang/include:

Client cannot connect to Internet
Hello List, This is my first post to the list, and as such I apologize for the length of it. I tried to put as much detail into this as possible. I recently installed Shorewall on a computer running Gentoo Linux. The computer has 3 network cards in it, but I''ve only configured 2. Going the cheap route, I''m connecting my client directly to my firewall using a crossover cable.

[LLVMdev] Operand, instruction
Can you tell how to use vector globally? I mean, i am able to add entries to a vector in a basicblock, but whenever a basicblock function call is returned, the vector becomes empty. So how to use data structures globally? And one thing, where is main ( or same kind of) function in llvm? Thanks for you reply. Duncan Sands wrote: > > Hi, > >> Actually i have to implement strength

Problem with multiple N/W cards
Hi, I am trying to set up a linux box with 5 N/W cards of which one is 10/100/1000T and the others are 10/100T. I connected all the cards and turned on the machine. I wanted to force eth0 to be the 1000T cards but the cards get allotted eth0 to eth4 randomly. Is there some way wherein I can force my 1000T card to be eth0. Also I want to turn off auto negotation & flow control on the 1000T

Shorewall development web site
Hi folks, Last night and this morning i''ve hacked up a quick web site for coordinating our development work based on Drupal (http://drupal.org). You can find it at: http://shorewall.dyndns.org I''ve put a few ideas in there - feel free to use the comments or sign up for an account and create your own pages (particularly in the two books about development and web site work).
