FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
A FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for Microsoft Windows Media Player that fully supports the Icecast2 Server is available for download here: http://www.orban.com/plugin FYI: This plugin supports .asx for Windows Media Player NOT .pls or .m3u. Also streams can be opened directly by using newly created UIL redirectors, e.g., icyx:// instead of http:// and rtpx:// instead of rtsp://. This is all covered

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
Ok, I read the Read Me. So icyx://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac works. I don't understand why the http syntax cannot be made to work. This works fine for Ogg Vorbis streams using the Illumination DirectShow filter. win32 icecast2 login problem
Hello, I'm trying to test the performance and stability of icecast2 at the windows xp platform using ices 0.3 at my Linux computer. However, I cannot login because of the following error message "attempted to login with invalid or missing password". But the password is ok! After further analysing with the very nice program M3W, which has the possibility to login using icy, X-audio

Hacking up streaming - we want to
Hi, We would like to stream some of our content as OGG Vorbis. We've currently managed to hack liveice and icecast to stream over HTTP and play that with ogg123. But from reading the dev list, I see that's also been done here, probably in a more elegant way - can anyone point me at the right place to see the current state of this? For now we'll probably just be doing this

encoder->server->listener lag
We're running a setup with M3W on a PC in Sri Lanka, encoding to a server in the UK. What factors govern the time delay between things being said to the microphone in SL and heard by a client connecting to the server, and how can we reduce it as much as possible? Currently we're experiencing 20-30 secs or more.

Windows Media Player
I'm having a problem with WMP and icecast 2.2.0. When people try to connect it buffers the feed really slow and people never go get audio. I've tried connecting over the LAN and it does the same thing. Open http:/scanner.weatherserver.net/live in media player and you will see what I am talking about. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Weather @

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I was under the impression that Tobias's Direct Show filters would allow Windows Media player to play Ogg Vorbis streams, but after testing it here, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anyway of making WMP play vorbis streams? The company I'm involved with who will be creating thousands of internet stations will most likely need WMP to play the streams, since it is

Ogg Media Player
What is the best (preferable open source) media player for oggs? I'm on windows, and Windows Media Player is the best thing I can seem to find. I've looked at WinAmp, QCD, Sonique, and FreeAmp, and they just don't seem to have the media library functionality WMP has. Is there another player out there I'm missing? Chris

Alternative to windows media player?
Hi, I'm installing Wine for the first time on my Mac through MacPorts. I've been reasonably successful and the application that I wanted to use, a training program, runs almost flawlessly :-) It does ask to use Windows Media Player and I did install WMP9 and this installed fine and the application does play the videos. However, these are thumbnail sized. While this isn't a big deal,

Leo Currie: > This link might be useful: > http://gonze.com/playlists/playlist-format-survey.html > hi leo, thanks for the link, it's definitely useful. meanwhile i doubt that it's a mime-type problem. i've made some php-scripts with different header and mime-type output, makes no difference. wmp buffers until the doctor comes... xmms plays obviously anything... i've

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi Assorgia, Thanks for the flash animation. I think Icecast1 might be the solution. I am just a little bit scared by the message "Note that icecast 1 is deprecated and unsupported, and may possibly induce nausea in small children, hair loss in men, and estrogen fluctuations in women" that appears on the download page. I have a nice blond hair of "Principe Azzuro" that I
