Stale link from ?check to R Internals
Hi the reference to R Internals
https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/R-ints.html#Tools
in ?check (PkgUtils.Rd in utils package) is stale. Here is my proposed
patch (use named reference rather than numeric reference to avoid any
similar broken links in the future).

Alternatively you can just script the window media player control, and bind
it to your stream, that should work just fine, assuming you have my
directshow filters installed.

I've had a lot of requests for additions to the reproducible research
task view that fall into a grey area (to me at least).
For example, roxygen2 is a tool that broadly enable reproducibility
but I see it more as a tool for better programming. I'm about to check
in a new version of the task view that includes packrat and
checkpoint, as they seem closer to reproducible research, but also

I second the motion for a Programming Tools CRAN Task View.
I would also think it could contain things like Rcpp, R6, etc.

ICECast in Flash / IEWin
I'd like to resurrect this orphaned thread:
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2003-December/006139.html
We're using the embedded flash player for listeners of pulverradio.com
and can't use 2.2 for relaying from our encoders. Apparently we can
use Icecast v1.3
Although this is clearly a problem caused by ActiveX and Microsoft
boneheads that is a mountain that may prove

custom package provider troubles
I have written a custom package provider for the pkgutil utility on
Solaris 10. Pkgutil replaces pkg-get which is not deprecated. All I
did was modify the Blastwave provider to use pkgutil instead of pkg-
get. I''ve tried two approaches to get the provider on to the client.
First, I created a plugin. I created a module called package to
contain the plugin. The only file in

R hangs. Uninstall/reinstall seems insufficient.
Hello,
I'm running a Mac PowerBook G4 PowerPC with OSX 10.5.8
I was using R 2.12.xx with no problems.
I tried to install R 2.13. Have never had any trouble with simply
downloading the pkg and installing over previous versions.
I did that, selected the packages I use regularly, set them to
download with "Install Dependencies" checked and went off to sleep.
When I came back in the

Does order() behave differently on different platforms?
Hello,
I am running R 1.7.1 on two platforms and it seems to me that order() behaves
differently on them. I noticed this when a test case passed in linux but
failed on solaris. This is the behavior on the solaris platform:
R.Version()
$platform
[1] "sparc-sun-solaris2.8"
$arch
[1] "sparc"
$os
[1] "solaris2.8"
$system
[1] "sparc, solaris2.8"
