Problem with liveice
It's an Icecast 2 server which appears to be running fine (in that I can get status.xsl up in the browser) and using the latest Liveice tarball from http://star.arm.ac.uk/~spm/software/liveice.html <p>>From: EvilOverlord <eviloverlord@kucs.net> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject: Re: [icecast] Problem with livice >Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004

.ogg extentions
I may be considered old fashioned in the way i see things but i do not understand why the .ogg format should be mass introduced! I've only just heard of it and it does seem odd. I got a .ogg file but i cannot find any software to play it! Windows media doesnt like it and when i used the web to find a application that runs it using windows, nothing was found so, since you are very

It could be, is your listening client on the same network, or is it over the internet? How fast is the connection between the icecast server and the listening client? It also could be because of a known bug in shout. Don't use shout. Use ices. Shout hasn't been

icecast+liveice in normal user fail
Liveice writes temp files to a hidden directory called .liveice_temp_files that's created the first time liveice is run. If it's run by root the first time, other users won't have write priveleges to it. As root chown that dir to the user or group you want to run it under. -bg --- Bill Goldsmith www.radioparadise.com www.kpig.com > I would like to use icecast and liveice as my

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
Kerry. I would like to get a copy of this document which you speak of. I have had generic trouble in getting livice properly installed and think that would do the trick... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kerry Cox" <kerry.cox@ksl.com> To: <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Thursday, November 07, 2002 10:22 AM Subject: Re: [icecast] icecast + liveice won't play nicely

HTB Web server lag
Hi I am runnning redhat 9 (2.4.20-8) I am using HTB (Sorry dont know version) and am also running a web server on the same machine. When I pass alot of traffic through the box it slows down the box ability to contact devices on the lan and also devices trying to contact the web server on that same box, even though i have SFQ as leaf off the deafult. For example the NFS mounts onto the

Problem connecting to icecast2
Just had a quick mess with my Ices0.3 and if the <hostname> is set to 127.0.0.1 I get "Socket error"...when set to 'localhost' it works fine. Could be a problem there. <p>>From: Brendan Cully <brendan@xiph.org> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject: Re: [icecast] Problem connecting to icecast2 >Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2004

icecast+liveice in normal user fail
I would like to use icecast and liveice as my normal account. If I do so, using xmms, I can access the relayed radios I have defined, but I cannot listen th the playlist liveice is broadcasting on /disk. XMMS tells me that the specified stream could not be found. If I launch icecast as root however, it works fine. I've searched through the logs and checked the file permissions but I

icecast + liveice won't play nicely
I have gotten icecast and live ice both up and running, but I cannot get them to play nicely together. I have the following in my configs: icecast: -- encoder_password test admin_password test oper_password test port 8000 port 8001 -- liveice: -- SERVER 192.168.1.2 PORT 8001 PASSWORD test #ICY_LOGIN X_AUDIOCAST_LOGIN -- but when I run both of them using: ./icecast ./liveice I get (from

Re: regcontext, NoOp extension vanishes when extension reload, WORKING
OK this was an easy one to fix. All I had to do is RTFM. Note on the wiki: ATTENTION: Make sure you take a look at bug report 7144 Just do what Kevin said, include the regcontext in whatever static context you have the priority 2 extension and don't make a static regcontext in extension.conf. Let sip module do the rest. Works great. Thanks Guys. JR On 12/5/06, JR Richardson
