Slow icecast loopback
There is no Debian stable package and our radio is in production... It's
not a good idea to switch without a test phase and I don't think that
it's going to correct the problem.

parsing icecast 1 and icecast2 logs in GUI web format
I know this was mentioned some time back, but I am curious if anyone has
had any further success with this. My radio station is looking for a
nice clean comprehensive overview of all connections to our icecast 1
and 2 servers. Someone had tweaked the webalizer program to render all
the stats in a nice GUI format. However, there were still a couple items
missing.
Just wondering what everyone else

Two sources on one mountpoint?
also, you can try two more things:
1- make the mix by hardware: a very simple mix console can do that.
you can build it starting from resistors and capacitors. You can find a
lot of such circuits in google.
2- mixing by soft: I can't tell you right now which soft can do that,
but may be you find someone.

How relay stream information between icecast v1 & v2

ices) are directly connected
- The second is an icecast server v2 that relay two mountpoint from the
other server
When a use a player (such as xmms or winamp) and listen to the first
icecast server, I got good stream information such as title, etc...

Bandwidth & Cost for broadcasting
Hi,
I'm CTO for a new Techno/Trance Radio named Let's Go Zik
(http://www.letsgozik.com) and i'm looking for the cheapest solution to
broadcast. For the moment, we're using Live356 for relaying our stream.
It's quite good but a little bit too cheap and not handy (they do not
provide multiple bitrate relay, ...). This is why I'm starting a new
study. Everyone can help us by

Thanks for the answer. How can I do a "failback" for a relayed stream ?
The idea is to set up a relay that can use for the same mountpoint two

How analyze performance (buffering) problems ?
Hello,
I'm looking for a method to track stream performance problems, I mean :
why does listeners got buffering ?
We are using two "front relay" that are hosted by differents providers.
The front relays are connected to our main server (which encode) that is
using two ADSL connections from two differents providers.
How can I do to know if there is a problem between "Front relay

IceCast & Logrotate
Hi,
Is lograte can be used to rotate icecast.log, ... ? IceCast seams to
keep files open during is running time. So, when you try to move
icecast.log, it still writing is the moved file. Moreover, if you delete
the file, icecast doesn't write any more.
Best regards,
PE

Fallback
Hi,
I'm trying the following settings but it seams that it's not working :(
While I try to switch down the server a, the fallback is not used.
The "/letsgozik-HiQ-backup" is working (localy). An idea ?

bit/bytes <= broadcasting : the state of art ?
Hi,
Our webradio (Let's Go Zik - http://www.letsgozik.com) works with
donation and partenship. I think it's the only way to keep a webradio
alive for the moment... We are making our radio in a associative way...
It's quite hard to "find" listeners. Currently we are nearly
broadcasting for 60 simultaneous listeners (and approx. 5000 differents
listeners per months)...

Source Authentification
Hi,
I've just switched to icecast 2... I was using some shell script that
were re-encoding stream at differents bitrate but they aren't working
anymore with icecast 2 :-(
What is the new authentification protocol ?
Previously, I was sending :
SOURCE $PASSWORD $DESTMOUNTPOINT
x-audiocast-name: $NAME
x-audiocast-url: $URL
x-audiocast-genre: $GENRE
x-audiocast-bitrate: $BITRATE

Register into shoutcast directory
Hello,
Icecast is a great project but there is one big problem left ! We can't
register into shoutcast directory which is the mosted used radio
directory in the world. So this realy difficult to find more listeners...
After many search, I was thinking that the only way to get our radio
into shoutcast directory was to setup a shoutcast relay using our
icecast server. Unfortunatly it seams

Auth & restriction
Hi,
is it possible to restrict the access to a source to certain user or to
certain IP? Dynamically? How?
The idea is to allow everyone to listen a 28 kbit stream but to allow
only authorized person to access to a 128 kbit stream.

Helix into Icecast2 loopback
Hello.
I've made some progress on the issue. I found a tool called TrPlayer which
is a text mode front end for real player - initially developed for the use
of the visually impaired. The theory is that I can use this and pipe the
live stream into vsound which then in turn is passed into ices or another
source client. Trouble is, I'm having all sorts of trouble compiling
Trplayer on the
