.conf for 2nd streem
I'm pretty sure it was in the default ices.conf, but I guess I deleted it. How do I setup a 2nd stream? The first plays at 24k, I want same audio for a box on the local lan, so bandwidth is not an issue; so either don't decode/reencode or re-encode at 300+K, or whatever the highest is. streaming MP3s?
Ok, icecast is up and running, but only ogg-files. Any way to stream MP3s? I got my whole CD-Collection as MP3s and am just to lazy to convert the whole stuff. <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word

Re-2: streaming MP3s?
I'm using icecast-2.0-alpha-2 and ices-2.0-Beta2. When I put the .mp3 file in my webroot and start laying it via winamp/location/<filename>.mp3 it works fine, just when I try using the playlist via ices I get a 404. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [icecast] streaming MP3s? m3u - file definition
Hello is there any documentation on the .m3u file definition ? I want to define a .m3u playlist where I have to define the start and end point of the single mp3 file. The .m3u files is supposed to handle multiple tracks from one file. Just with put a tab, start time (seconds), tab, end time (seconds) after the path to mark where it starts and ends in the file. #First Track

Directory listing disappeared
Hi: Last week, I upgraded an icecast2 server and enabled the directory code. The primary streams that run on it showed up nicely. As some may recall, I had issues with libshout compiling (seems the sources got hosed somehow, a fresh checkout fixed everything after all else failed), and I just compiled the latest ices2. I noticed, with some surprise, that the config file hadn't changed in

legalities of streaming
Where would you find out who's in charge of this in the country you're in (other than just doing it and waiting for letters from lawyers ;) ). Thanks Hans Remco B. encrypted passwords in Icecast 2
hello ! I've just installed the debian package icecast2 (I have the icecast 1.3.12 before) and I have a doubt about the passwords. In the icecast 1.3.* we should use the mkpasswd for our pass and put the crypted output to icecast.conf file. Isn't possible in the icecast.xml file?? (perhaps is not necessaty, I don't know). If this is so, can I change the permissions to this file to

legalities of streaming
Hi list, This might not be the right list to bring this subject up on, however I thought it might be a good place to start. What are the current legalities in relation to non commercial music streams, or more accurately put non profit streams, and is this currently being seriously policed? Basically I am wanting to start up my own online station, but I don't really want to get my butt

strange noise from icecast
Hello, I'm using icecast for at least 3 months now and I am experiencing a strange noise and also some echo effect (from time to time) and I can't identify the source of this noise. I tryed almost everything, from TCP fragment reassembling to cheking my hardware. I just have no more ideas what to check. The streams can be found here: live.radiocapris.com:8000/low

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hi Abhijit I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the effort.
