Maybe you're right and I really misconfigured something,
but I can't find anything in my config and I just compiled
the latest version of icecast from cvs.
Could you send me your actual configuration or upload it
somewhere so I can compare it

Thanks, but it looks to me like you've done a bit more than recompile my
packages for PowerPC.

URL format for Icecast2 metadata updates
Jason wrote:

Wouldn't that require the admin password? Surely there's a way of doing it
which only requires the source password, heck there must be since
streamTranscoder is sending in metadata updates nicely without needing the
admin pw.

icecast2 password bug?
Hello people,
I'm trying the Icecast2 for win32 (release 02-26-2003).
Currently my (mp3/ogg) source data for the server is a winamp running
the oddcast plugin.
I can't connect to icecast2 server using odd_cast plugin. Actually it
connects ok, but just after winamp start to play, it is disconnected
from server.
The server log say: attempted to login with invalid or missing password

Icecast2 under OpenBSD - update
Hi,
I've come a step further in my attempt to compile Icecast2 under
OpenBSD... I didn't have the pth library installed (d'oh), but ´cd
/usr/ports/devel/pth && make install´ did the job.
It still bails out at the same point, though, but this time with another
error message:

gcc -O20 -fsigned-char -D_REENTRANT -I/usr/local/include/libxml
-I/usr/local/include -I/include

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi,
Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or
can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the
quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though.
And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!?
I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps
prebuffering. I need something

php-snmp : spec, rpms, srpms.
Hello,
I just built a complete php suite including php-snmp
RPM. (php-snmp-4.3.2-19.ent.i386.rpm). I inspired myself from this
bugzilla page: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?id=123149
can I upload binaries, sources and specfile somewhere to share it with
you ? I was thinking about "Extras" repository ? why not ?

I check it out with bigger buffer (size 512 kB, prebuffer 80 %) again

Ices2; Metadata and special chars - SOLVED
I just had contact with an ices-developer about this issue.
This is not a bug in ices, it is a documentation-bug. What the documentation
not says is, that the metadata should be sent in UTF-8 encoding. Simply
change from Ascii to UTF-8 and ALL esoteric characters will be sent, i've
just tested this.

How to complie Icecast2 on Win32
Ok. Now it will run. But when i try to play back my stream(either
ogg/vorbis or mp3) it sounds like the chipmunks. Could it be that I'm
broadcasting at a sample rate of 22050 in mono? This shouldn't make a
difference as the source is also 22050 samplerate and mono(its the
line-in plugin for winamp). I'm using Winamp 2.81 with the is the
Oddcast DSP for Winamp 2.xx plugin to

Icecast2, Oddcast v3 and Metadata
Hi guys,
this is my first post and i'm sorry for my bad english :-)
The question is this:
I have an "Icecast2 beta 3" server (under Red Hat 9) and a Winamp 5.0.8/Oddcast 3.0.7 source client.
My users are all with Win Xp and Win Media Player 9
The problem is with metadata. I set them into Oddcast and the server respond with this log messages:

Ices2; Metadata and special chars
I reported this several months ago. I was using Oddcast to send and Winamp
to listen. Winamp showed the title truncated at any extended character.

Ross Levis.

time out issues with icecast2
But the source computer runs the other os, so I don't have too much
choice as to what I can do and the timeout problems remain with mp3
as well. The persons involved don't want to use .ogg for now so that
is also not an option. Is this an icecast bug, or some other problem?

Severe problem with Icecast2 and streamTranscoder
I have a setup where Icecast 2.2.0 is serving a single Vorbis stream.
The source is either a local ices2 or a remote Winamp/Oddcast. I'm then
running a streamTranscoder 1.2.8 instance on the server to transcode the
Vorbis stream to MP3 on the fly and send it back to Icecast, to be
served at a different mountpoint. My config files are very basic with
most settings at their defaults.

Icecast2 - different Qualities
Hi,
We are streaming via oddcast/winamoo to icecast2 a 128kbit/s stream. I
didn't find any information about offering a second version of the stream in
a lower quality. Can I configure Icecast, that it takes the first mountpoint
and gives it a second lower kbps rated mountpoint?
Greetings and THX, Daniel
