icecast "multicasting" ?

Do you mean that icecast can accept a stream from another icecast server and then distribute that stream to its "listeners"?

Shorewall and multicast
Hi, all! Can I enable multicasting via shorewall? I have router with Gentoo Linux (one interface to ISP, one with alises - to local network). Shorewall work perfect! But now I need setup Quagga (zebra) for dynamic routing between one more router via another provider. All routers daemons (zebra, ripd, ospf) used multicasting. In my configuration already enabled allowBcast and etc.

multicasting
Hello, icecast We want to begin icecast streaming of FM stations. As far as I know, Icecast does not support multicasting yet. My question is: will be multicasting implemented in the next version of icecast? Is there a possibility to multicast icecast's stream with third party's open source products? Thank you in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

[Q] multicasting product ?
Hi everybody! Now that RSYNC has RSYNC+ included a good usage would be to use RSYNC+ to gather update-date, then multicast that on your hosts and process it. So my question is: does anyone know of a product which does reliable multicasting? (source available would be preferred) Simple pointers are appreciated; if noone has one I'm thinking about writing one myself. Thanks for all help!

UDP Vs. TCP

The design has to be able to feed multiply end points while those end points can change sources at will as well as generate their own stream. Some of the broadcasts will be timed (on-air slots) say Friday night 1900-2200. ---

UDP multicast stream and NAT
Hi, my ISP is streaming some local concert using UDP multicasting. I followed the instructions on the site which described how to set VLC in order to view the stream, but it didn''t work. I am behind a Linux router/firewall doing NAT. Using google, I quickly found out that the netfilter/conntrack code doesn''t support NATing multicast traffic. I thought about bridging the internet

IGMP
The BBC are currently trialling multicasting the Olympics. This requires multicast and IGMP to be available. As far as I can make out, in 2.0.8 at least, all multicast addresses are filtered out and, to my naive eyes, can''t be re-enabled. Please prove me wrong :-) Dirk -- Please Note: Some Quantum Physics Theories Suggest That When the Consumer Is Not Directly Observing This Message,

** Newbie - HELP **
Using VM's was a suggestion I put forward but some of our staff didn't like the idea! We can't virtualise Windows as we run many CAD and Media app's that require high end graphics card utilisation. The Linux image is mainly used for coding type activities and so virtualising that would seem sensible - unfortunately that is not my call.. Regards Darren Williams -----Original

streaming video suggestions please!
Hi all! I have been using Icecast for almost two years and it's just great, now I would like to have streaming video and I think a lot of people here can help me to do the best selection, I prefer something running on linux, but it's ok on windows, better if its free and open source. I'm looking for something cheap but good, something where I can connect the signal from tv or a normal

Asterisk as a distributed paging system
I'm building a paging system composed of roughly 10 switches in daisy chain, with an embedded box with a speaker and a microphone for each switch. The embedded box runs my software. I need the system to be resilient to any network partition, so that anyone can send announces from any mic to all the reachable clients. I'd need also to page a subset of all the speakers. I'm

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way around. Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on. So, thanks again for your help. Richard On 12/3/19 11:36 AM, Richard Achmatowicz wrote: > Laine >

dovecot & cap_net_admin capability
Hi, we've seen SELinux reports from our users that dovecot tried to use something that needs CAP_NET_ADMIN capability. Before enabling it, we would like to know where it originated from. I've checked the sources, but was not able to find anything that would require this capability. Do you know for what it is used? CAP_NET_ADMIN Perform various network-related operations: * interface

audio streaming server
Hello... I'm involved in a project whereby a live audio input from the FM radio station is to be sent to an audio streaming server, which will stream the audio to the remote sites thru the VSAT (satellite based) network. The remote sites are to rebroadcast the transmissions (FM station rebroadcast), as most of the expected listeners do not have access to the internet. Is icecast2 capable of

assign static external IP to container
hello i have a server colocated in a datacenter with several external IP addresses available to use. the physical server is using one of these IPs, and i want to assign another, unused IP to the virtual machine. i thought i could just do this by editing the container's /etc/network/interfaces, setting a static IP address for eth0 much like i did for br0 on the host machine.... but doesn't
