does IceCast & listeners logging
Hello,
I'm working on a project of a commercial webradio. I need to register everytime somebody listens to my radio : when the stream
begins, when it ends, the IP.
But in the file access.log, there are many GETs from my listeners, before it streams, during, after, and so on.
ShoutCast does it as I want but I wanna use IceCast in order to stream Ogg Vorbis !
I feel that the logging module

legalities of streaming
Basically, to legally broadcast music you must:
A) Obtain permissions from the copyright holder (usually the publisher, record
label) of the *composition*. ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC offer compulsory licenses
for all of the artists they represent, fees based upon roughly how many
listeners your station has & how many songs in your broadcast are by
artists/composers they represent.
B) Obtain

Webalizer displays wrong year
I just run webalizer manually on an Apache log, like I have done many times
before. Some new statistics were created, but for "August 2006" instead of
"August 2008". I cannot figure why!
Because of my mistake, the webalizer statistics for this site have not been
updated since February. Now I tried to update them for the first time - with
the results I described above.

Webalizer and GeoIP?
I have a small problem with webalizer. I use it to analyze logs of a small web
server hosting a single site, and the only thing I am interested in from
webalizer is the piechart diagram it produces about the geographic
distribution of people visiting the site.
However, the piechart it produces gives me a very crude information, with 50%
or so of visitors belonging to "unresolved",

Webalizer + IceCast2 logfile?
Is it possible?
Basically, I want to process the IceCast2 logfile in the same way as I
process my Apache server logs? I tried a dry run, and it reported an
error with regards to the "date" field - I am currently replacing the
date field text "Eastern Standard Time" with the text "-400", to see if
that would fix it (that how it is in my Apache logfile). I will

Yes, you are supposed to file with the RIAA (SE as you suggest?). Period,
end of story. Jwz covers this on his site IIRC.

DMCA and webcasting
Last year I arranged with my college radio station and ITS department to
webcast the radiostation using icecast. The webcast has been a wonderful
success so far. My problem now is not technical, but political. A few days
ago I recieved the following message from the station director:

Webalizer for streams
Hello,
last night, I worked to make a new version of webalizer for streams.
I put some info and example here:
http://radio.stalig.com:443/stats/webalizer/index.html
If you are interested... It's not finished (yearly stats are not ready), but monthly and daily stats are fine.
I'll try to have it integrated to regular webalizer version.

parsing icecast 1 and icecast2 logs in GUI web format
I know this was mentioned some time back, but I am curious if anyone has
had any further success with this. My radio station is looking for a
nice clean comprehensive overview of all connections to our icecast 1
and 2 servers. Someone had tweaked the webalizer program to render all
the stats in a nice GUI format. However, there were still a couple items
missing.
Just wondering what everyone else

Site statistics
Hey,
I was wondering what everyone else does in regards to getting
webalizer or other site statistics software to work with mongrel.
I currently have a mongrel cluster running behind apache 2.2
with proxy_mod_balancer, but I"m finding that webalizer isn''t
too thrilled with that mod.
Thanks,

On-Hold Music
Hi gang,
In 500 words or less (if possible), please explain what is a
legal music-on-hold file? My boss hates the stuff provided with the
distribution and I figure that I'm asking for trouble if I take my Les Mis
tracks and run them through Audacity and SOX to make new files.
Thanks in advance

rsyncd log in common log format?
I'm having trouble getting rsync to output the log into common log format.
My web statistics program Webalizer (www.webalizer.org) wants the logs in
Common Log Format (httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_log_common.html).
Briefly, that's a string
host ident authuser date request status bytes
subject to some conditions (for instance, the date is in square brackets).
My rsyncd.conf file has

Icecast log analysis : Webalizer 2.10 is ready
Hello,
I added new features to Webalizer 2.01 for streaming log analysis.
You can find the new Webalizer version 2.10 here :
http://webalizer.kezako.net
Please note that your configuration file needs to be changed (you have to add a few lines).
The website also shows an example of the result produced.
Questions, remarks, should be send to iceuse@kezako.net
Regards,
Chris
