Icecast Logging - Accurate?
Icecast is not going to log the TCP packet overhead, or your ethernet
frame overhead, or resends, or collision. A switch would log all of
that.
It if it's less than a 15% discrepancy, you probably are just seeing
packet overhead.

Sacrilege, but...
RedHat 6.0 originally, with upgraded glibc.
I just checked the machine again and I was off on the versions.
glibc-2.1.3-22
glib-1.2.3-1
glibc-devel-2.1.3-22
Still, pretty similar. As far as I know, those are most recent for RH6.
Upgrading the server to 7.x is not exactly easy since it's in co-lo 3 hours
away. Plus, until now, I don't think anyone knew Icecast may be effected by

Error while set mailQuota=0 with mbox and LDAP backend
Hi, all.
I have OpenLDAP(+qmail.schema), Dovecot, Postfix installed on RHEL 5.1
(x86_64), and they works fine with mbox format.
The problem is if i set 'mailQuota=0' in LDAP, postfix can't send mail
to recipient user. But it works fine with 'mailQuota != 0', such as
'10240'(10M).
What's wrong with my mail server setting? How can i solved this issue?
Thanks very

when RedHat makes patches for only some versions
I guess this is really a RedHat, not CentOS question, but I?m hoping that someone here will be familiar enough with the upstream policy to have some useful information.
How does RedHat decide which versions to release patches for, e.g. https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2015-7613 <https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2015-7613> which has only a RH7 erratum, not 6? And are

What linux distro most popular for Asterisk
Is there a recent survey of that Linux distro and version people are using for the Asterisk installations? I recall seeing a pie chart over a year ago (I think on a wiki but I can't find it again)....also hoping for something more current.
I suspect RH5 and RH6 are most popular...but I'm looking for facts

I have RHel6. How does that turn into Centos 6?
The bickering here about Centos 6 has made me wonder what is actually
legally necessary to re-distribute the RPM files that come with RHel6.
I am not starting a flame ware, I hope. I'm just curious about what
is minimally necessary go from RHel6 to another distribution. I
suppose we could discuss "Paul Linux 6" instead of Centos, if that
makes you feel more comfortable. (and not

Sacrilege, but...
I had this same problem for awhile on Icecast 1.3.10. I moved back to 1.3.0
(I know!) and it went away.
At the time (a few months back) I was using CVS Ices.
That was on this system:
Linux 2.2.19
glibc-2.1.3-15
glib-1.2.6-3
glibc-devel-2.1.3-15
(I think pretty close to Mike's).

PAM config file installation
This might have been covered before and I've missed it. If so, sorry in
advance.
The file sshd.pam.generic didn't work for me on Linux RH6, I guess it's
a Solaris file. Instead I copied the file /etc/pam.d/rlogin to
/etc/pam.d/sshd . I wonder if this isn't a good way to go about things
anyway, have an install target that does just that?
Perhaps the rsh file is more appropriate

No reports in foreman
Dear all
I am trying to set up reports in foreman, but foreman tells me to configure
it.
What am I doing wrong?
I have on the puppet master:
/var/lib/puppet/reports/foreman.rb
with $foreman_url=http://rh6-puppet-master
Do I need the port?
/etc/puppet/puppet.conf with in [main] reports = log, foreman
I restarted the service service puppetmaster restart
in /var/log/messages I find: No

file locking with win apps
Hello there,
I have a serious file locking problem with samba on a RH6 based Linux
machine.

is, only one client can access these - and even only one client can
initialize the database query engine, which is btrieve 6.15 workstation

The same problem affects .doc files. If one client has an open document,

Teaming vs Bond?
I'm looking at tuning up a new site and the bonding issue came up
A google search reveals that the gluster docs (and Lindsay) recommend
balance-alb bonding.
However, "team"ing came up which I wasn't familiar with. Its already in
RH6/7 and Ubuntu and their Github page implies its stable.
The libteam.org people seem to feel their solution is more lightweight
and it seems easy

Selecting subset of factor levels
Dear r-help,
I would like to select a subset of levels from a factor variable in a data frame and return a data frame.
The data set consists of 3 variables, 2 of which are factors (Site, Fish) and one numeric (Datavalue) as follows:
Site Fish Datavalue
AB 2-1 2.3
AB 2-1 2.4
AB 2-1 2.2
AB 2-2 2.6
AB 2-2 2.5
AB 2-2 2.7

samba and squid?
Hi all. I'd like to look into using samba in conjunction with squid, to
authenticate users before leaving the intranet thru the squid proxy.
I'm using RH6, and thought there may be either a PAM module to do this, or
the possibility of authenticating against a PDC or samba server for squid
authentication?
Thanks,
Dave

smbmount'ed fs "dies" after a short time
I have a linux (RH6) client that smbmounts a filesystem
from an NT server. After some short unspecified period
of time, all attempts to access the mounted filesystem
on the linux box result in "Input/Output Error".
I can't even smbumount the file system (same error
message). The NT system continues to function, and
other MS clients (Win95 and NT) do not have any problems

AVM Fritz/Capi without suse ?
Hi All,
Has anyone had success with using the AVM Fritz PCI ISDN Card (v2) CAPI
drivers with a distro other than suse? The AVM driver is geared towards
suse, and after trying them with RedHat 9 I've not got very far. The
module compiles but dies when I attempt to modprobe it.
I've googled until I almost lost the will to live! What little
information
I can find seems to refer back to

Merbivore.com - Mockups
There''s been some discussion on the IRC channel about getting a site
for Merb going. Since the culture around the project is pretty
casual, I figured I''d just throw a few ideas together, see what you
guys think.
So, firstly here are three example pages, just to show off the
general look and feel.

Teaming vs Bond?
I haven't done any testing of performance differences, but on my oVirt/rhev
i use standard bonding as that's that it supports. On the stand along
gluster nodes I use teaming for bonding.
Teaming may be slightly easier to manage, but not by much if you are
already used to bond setups. I haven't noticed any bugs or issues using
teaming.
