[OT] Small SIP phones?
Hi.
Does anyone know of any small SIP phones (and preferably have some experience
of using them and happy to recommend them)?
By 'small' I mean a single-piece phone, with dial buttons in the handset, so
that it can be carried around easily in a laptop bag. Something like

standard analogue telephone).

Winecfg does not notice my headphones - only mic (USB Headset) / No 'Mixer Devices' in Alsa - only OSS
Hi,
I've been struggling to get everything going fine for a while now.
Finally I can talk clearly and hear people.
Problem is it was coming through my speakers connected to an external
USB Sound Card; if I set it to come through my USB Headset, it comes
through speakers anyway.
I unplugged USB sound card and restarted computer.
Now I tried again. This time I simply do not hear sound.

OT - How to switch headphones between softphones on Linux ?
Hello,
A little Off-Topic but how can you easily switch microphone and headphone
from one softphone to another on a Linux KDE platform ?
I use Skype (for incoming calls mainly) and Twinkle (for outgoing and
incoming calls).
I could't find any practical way to quickly switch audio from one
application to another.
Ideally, I would like to "register" some kind of virtual audio

usb headphones.
Hello:
There is a bug in PulseAudio that does not allow automatic switch
between computer speaker, and usb headphones.
I would like to add a page to explain how to get around it. I searched
online, and almost all of the posts are missing a lot of information.

Sound with headphones on: Streamaudio perfect but youtube and system-config-soundcard silent
This afternoon, I bought a pair of ear plugs (the large flat kind that
hook onto my ears). Plugged them in to test and they work perfectly.
I'm listening to streamaudio.com as I type this. However, when I
tried to watch a youtube.com video (my wife exercise dancing) just
silence. She had the same video on to test and the sound was fine on
her box. Then, I tried system-config-soundcard and

Logitech H540 headphones were working fine.
Suddenly stopped.
Sound Preferences says they are disabled but gives no hints on how to
enable them, or how they became disabled.
Tried rebooting, unplugging them, etc.
Anyone know what is going on?
This motherboard doesn't have onboard sound, this USB is my only option.
And GNOME simply isn't usable for me, I used GNOME for years but

Maybe a stupid question, but did you try your headphones on another
computer?
Is the device listed in the ouput of command "lsusb"?

Hey,
just came across this article.

Many of you would be already aware of this. It mentions flac also. i feel it
is a good segment(stereo wireless headsets over bluetooth) to push flac
given very light decoder and using encoder at low compression(to reduce
complexity). Though very less is

No Mic(Headphones are fine)
Hi All,
I went and bought a new headset, as I thought the old one,(almost 5yrs
old), was no good. But, when trying to skype, I still can't be heard. I
know the sound card worked before, although, it has been some time,
since I mic'd anything. Anyone got any ideas, other than a possible dud
sound card(socket)? Cheers.

7.3 and USB headphones
Hi all!
I wish to give huge thankyous to KB and all the others who worked
to get 7.3 out the door. Many thanks!
I have some good things and some bad. A good thing is that unlike
previous versions, when I plug in my USB headphones they are automatically
recognized and I get sound without having to change anything! (which is
a huge win from before when I had to mess with settings, sometimes for

Can you recommend some USB headphones
Or phones that work with Centos.
I am making headway on my SIP testing, but I need a a couple (or 3) USB
headphones or phones.
I remember back quite at time ago I had problems with one with volume
control (ie none!).
So I am looking for a cheap USB headphone or 'real' VoIP phone. I am
using SIP Communicator as my client.

Headphones volume control not working in CentOS 7
Hi all,
I hope someone could enlighten me...
How could I resolve the fact that the volume controls of all the
headphones I try on CentOS 7 are not working, they are OK on CentOS 6
but impossible to make them work on my Thinkpad Laptop with an iPhone
headphones or a Marshal Monitor plugged with a jack connector...
Those 2 headphones work correctly in CentOS 6...

TDM400P > BT
Hi folks,
Any Brits on the list got experience of hooking devices with standard BT plugs to the TDM400P? The TDM400P has the RJ11/RJ45 socket but I'm not sure if a standard adapter will do the trick or if we need to consider ring capacitors etc. Any links to buy the stuff would also be appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon
