iTunes plugin help, please?
Hello, I'm afraid this is a terribly noobish issue, but I can't figure out how to install you FLAC/OGG plugin for iTunes. I read the ReadMe file that came with the download, but it wasn't terribly specific on WHERE the file is supposed to be copied in the library. I tried copying it to the library/iTunes/Plugins folder, but nothing happened. Could you please help me out with a

But stopped after last update of iTunes and QuickTime. PS: I can't register on https://trac.xiph.org My error is like an old https://trac.xiph.org/ticket/1289 Anatoly

RE:Ogg Support for Windows XP - Itunes
Hi , I'm just sought inquiring about the status of windows xp port of your project ... I'm a fun of ogg vorbis but I'm severely limited when it comes to ogg and stuff ... it kinder gets frustrating to have 10000 applications just to be able to play an ogg vorbis related file. I so like your idea currently i 'm using itunes 4.9(hich has been reduced to act as a db manager) plus the

FLAC codec in OS X Leopard
I upgraded to Leopard (version 10.5 of OS X) a few weeks ago. Although I was a bit disappointed, but not surprised, to see that FLAC support isn't built natively into the OS, I was very happy to notice recently that Apple ships source code for a FLAC encoder and decoder codec component in /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/AudioCodecs/ FLAC.xcodeproj. All that is necessary to build the

trouble building XiphQT
Hi all. Maybe there's a document about the build procedure that I overlooked; if so, please let me know. Meanwhile, I'm having trouble getting this thing to build. At first I saw missing-header complaints, so I checked the entire trunk out of the repository to make sure I have everything. After correcting the base SDK in each Xcode project (they're all set to the OS 10.4 SDK, which

XiphQT
Not sure where to file bugs against XiphQT... I have noticed that Theora encoded videos played through Quicktime (on Mac) using XiphQT are incorrectly reproducing the color of the video, and appear washed out. The same videos can be played via VLC and Firefox and are true to the original - so I don't believe it's a problem with the videos themselves or the encoding. I'm observing

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead? Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X? See: [theora]

XiphQT Installer for Microsoft Windows Created
In the greatest tradition of Next > Next > Next > Next > Next > Next, the Xiph.Org Foundation releases an Installer for the Xiph Quicktime Components under Windows. XiphQT with Thusnelda?
I noticed that the latest release of XiphQT predates the release of Theora 1.1. What's the situation with a release of XiphQT with the Theora 1.1 encoder in it? Is such a release planned? (With all this iPad vs. Open Video discussion going on, it would be so much easier to advocate Theora if Mac-using content creators could simply install a pre-built binary and get an up-to-date Theora

"Live-CD" with Firefox + XiphQT?
Hy, I want to create a CD-ROM which includes Firefox 1.5.0.7 for MacOS X and is intended to be run solely on an intel-based Mac. It should already come with the XiphQT-plugin so that no installtion is needed. I want to be able to put the CD-ROM into the drive, double-click on "start-MacOS-Firefox.app" and have a fully operational Firefox with XiphQT-support - no matter if Firefox or

XiphQT / Theora Questions
Hello, I hope this is not an inappropriate list for this. This is the list suggested by http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ I use Linux exclusively at the moment and do not plan on buying a Mac, but I am working on a CMS including html5 media support. Patent licensing costs forbid decoding proprietary video formats on the server for transcode into Ogg Theora so I am looking for a way that non

Producing oggs with XiphQT - testers needed!
Dear all, As the next version of XiphQT is mostly ready, I thought it could use some more wide pre-release testing. The major change since last release is the addition of Ogg exporter and Vorbis and Theora encoders. Any feedback on how this new functionality performs (or doesn't!) with audio/video editing/producing software will really help. Also, comments and suggestions on the work of

OS X FLAC Frameworks + 5.1 channel order
Hi, First - XiphQT uses libFLAC and libFLAC++, which are built as Mac-specific Framework bundles (libs + public API headers), which in turn are distributed with binary XiphQT releases, or framework binaries can be downloaded separately. As I don't have access to the FLAC source repository, the Xcode build files can be found on: http://people.xiph.org/~arek/snapshots/flac-osx-build.tgz if you

XiphQT and OSX 10.9
Hi, After running 10.9 for a while, I noticed iTunes would no longer play my ogg files. I found a workaround suggesting that I force iTunes to run in 32 bit mode. After doing this, iTunes informs me that it can only be run in 64 bit mode. The reason appears to be that in 10.9, Quicktime APIs have been largely deprecated. Before I realized that was the cause, I was trying to build 64 bit

Installation of XiphQT component in Snow Leopard
Hi I installed the XiphQT component into a folder I made called "Components" inside my user "Library" folder. So far I can report it works and I have been able to play an ogg embedded audio file in a web page using QT. I was just wondering if the XiphQT component would still work if installed into the QuickTime folder in the main Library folder where component items
