Flac Files Messed Up By Amarok
A while back I posted about issues with flac files that were not able to
be decoded. Here's what I do know:
I've ripped most of my collection to my hard drive using KAudioCreator
and I've specified that they be stored in flac format. All files play
without trouble through Amarok. I found out there was a problem when I
had selected files in a playlist and picked "burn"

Fixing corrupt flac files
Hi,
since years I simply encoded my CDs using various tools to flac and simply
listened to it and never had any problems.
Today I wrote a little script though to add replaygain values to my music
collection and I found out that a lot of my flac files are corrupt.
The corruption almost always occurs in the last 10% like
flac 1.2.1, Copyright (C) 2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007 Josh

Problem decoding .flac files
On another note, which I'm not sure if it's related with this, the
Xine library in Debian and Ubuntu is very broken with regards to FLAC
decoding (and probably encoding). It's already reported on their bug
tracker, but no ETA of when that will be fixed. Xine is used by
Amarok, and maybe K3B too.

KAudioCreator
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I am the the author of KAudioCreator. A simple cd ripper/encoder application
for KDE. I would like to add flac (or is it FLAC?) to the default encoders.
KAudioCreator uses a simply command line listing for its encoders. For
example:
To leave as a wav file: "mv %f %o"
To encode with oggenc: "oggenc -o %o -a %artist -l %album -t

Die, KDE! Die! (Sticking with Gnome and Yum Conflicts)
Okay, I experimented with both KDE and Gnome, and decided I'd rather use
Gnome. After making this decision, I wanted to remove KDE, because I
like to keep my hard drive as lean as possible.
I accomplished this, or so I thought, by running:
# yum groupremove "KDE (K Desktop Environment)".
It seemed to work. Removed a whole bunch 'o stuff.
Okay, but then I wanted to install k3B,

Fixing corrupt flac files
Hej,
well I'm not sure because those file that are corrupt have been around for a
quite long time. It could have been k3b but I'm really not sure. Right now I
was ripping with Audex and tagging with Audex/Amarok/kid3. Those files seem to
be fine though.
My lates approaches have been with Picard/beets :-)
I think it's not possible to share those files without getting in legal

Indices and totals
Hi all!
I've read http://reactor-core.org/ogg-tagging.html and
http://www.vorbis.com/ot/20030303.html#id2726753 about the goals and
non-goals of vorbis comments, but I'm still unsure:
1) Is it by purpose to forget about CDA's index feature because it's so
rarely used or did nobody here ever thought about it?
-> Add an INDEXNUMER field?
2) If "Vorbis comments are the

FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single and FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM
Hi all,
If I have code that does this:
    while (FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single (decoder))
        /* Do something. */ ;
I get an infinite loop. Shouldn't FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single
return false if it gets to FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM?
If so, here's a patch.
Cheers,
Erik

SV: How does asterisk behave when multiple phonesare logged in on a single SIP/account?
Yeah I do use ring groups at the moment. But the problem is that I can't control "the flow".
Let's take your example.

dial(SIP/dev1&SIP/dev2&SIP/dev3)

If I dial these 3 numbers, and dev2 is already one the phone. How do I check for that? I only want one of the three phones active at the time. But if no telephone is busy, they all should ring until the call is

CD burning issues & questions
I have been having some strange results trying to burn CDs under
CentOS. I don't think they are hardware related because I have had
some success, in fact most of this usually works.
I use k3b for most of my CD and DVD writing - it seems to work fairly
well (well, except for wrecking my installation a few weeks ago when
it crashed my installation and I had to reinstall to get it back, but
