Formula/heuristic for estimating packet size?
Note also that the packet size you give the encoder also acts as an absolute max on the bitrate. For example, if you ask for 32 kb/s VBR but give a max packet size of 120 bytes, then you're absolutely certain the bitrate will never go over 48 kb/s. FLAC Visual Studio file tidy-up?
Yup, into win32\VS2010 and VS2015. I usually copy whatever old project files exist and try opening them with the new VSxxxx edition. If an upgrade is needed, I carry it out on the copied project files, leaving the originals intact. Then proceed with testing all the configurations and fixing any build issues. Formula/heuristic for estimating packet size?
Hello, I'm working on an Opus encoder block for GNUradio (a signal processing toolkit). I was wondering if there's some formula/heuristic for estimating the packet size average case / worst case given a certain encoder setting (assuming VBR). I need to provided a reasonable estimate to the GNUradio memory allocator. --Albin

opus-codec.org/comparison: Mono or Stereo?
Looking at the Opus comparison page[1], I can't figure out whether the Opus/AAC/Vorbis/MP3 lines are meant to imply a mono or stereo encoding. Could someone please update the caption to clarify this? The single dot for G.711 is clearly mono, but for stereo music, are the codecs at the top meant to converge near 128 kbps, or 256 kbps? [1] http://opus-codec.org/comparison/

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
I pulled the test directory from 2003, but everything else from 2005. The 2005 files have more ?cross-compiling? targets than the 2003 ones. I fixed the various missing files in the new 2008 projects (misc.c and one other other are gone now). The only thing you could do which would make them more compact would be to get rid of the subdirectories under each vs-version. There is no real need for

Formula/heuristic for estimating packet size?
Just a follow up... I guess I was a bit confused about the VBR setting. I realise now that packets tend to stay very close to OPUS_SET_BITRATE so that solves my problem. --Albin On Sat, May 12, 2018 at 6:19 PM, Albin Stigö <albin.stigo at gmail.com> wrote: > Thanks for the input! > > --Albin > > On Sat, May 12, 2018 at 6:00 PM, Orestes Zoupanos > <oresteszoupanos at

[LLVMdev] Is there someone tried LLVM 2.1 on Visual Studio 2005?
By the way, somebody (I think it was Chuck, but I don't remember for certain) was asking for the BuildLog.htm from building the llvm.sln file under VS 2005 SP1 for diagnostic purposes; right now the SLN is configured to produce a new BuildLog for each and every one of the projects inside the solution. I don't know who's responsible for this guy, but that's probably not the best way

New release
Hi all, I've been notified of a CVE to be publish against FLAC early next week. I have a patch for it and have thoroughly tested it as well as had it verified by the Google Security Team member who found it. I've been asked not to publish that patch until Tuesday. Once I publis the patch, I like to release FLAC 1.3.1 immediately and would therefore like to make sure that all the

Problem Building opus-1.0.3 on Microsoft Visual Studio 2012
I am using mvs 2012 but the .sln provided is of msv 2010 so on opening .sln it tries to update libraries which is successful but I am unable to build (compile) it as it gives series of errors. I am pretty new to these things so can anyone tell me if I am doing anything wrong or how to create(.lib and .dll) files so I can use them in my project. Please forgive me if I have asked something foolish.
