New C++ file encode example
Well, I sent this earlier this week, but I guess it's stuck in the spam filter, so I'll send it again split up in several
parts. First the full source, if this one arrives I'll reply with the patch.
Ok, so I ended up creating 2 versions of this. The first one is what I mentioned earlier, pretty much a line-for-line
translation of the original example. The c++-style casts made the

Git branch with compiling fixes for win32
Well, I have been away a couple of days, so I don't know if I'm in time, but I reported a memory leak and submitted a patch a couple of months ago. It would be nice if it can make it in.
I first reported the leak here: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac-dev/2011-August/003002.html
And the patch is here:

Well, I've read that there have been bugs in valgrind, were SSE optimized versions of strlen() do guaranteed safe overreads of memory, but valgrind wasn't aware the overreads were safe.
Anyway, it seems easy to

[PATCH] Add missing functions to SeekTable class
The attached patch adds the missing FLAC__metadata_object_seektable_*() functions from FLAC's metadata object methods (FLAC/metadata.h) to FLAC++'s SeekTable class. Of the 11 functions in the C API, only 4 are currently in the C++ API, this patch adds the missing 7.
If this patch is ok, VorbisComment will be next. A quick look tells me only 5 out of 13

[PATCH] Adds last functions from C metadata api to C++ metadata api
Hi! I think this patch adds the last of the libFLAC metadata functions to the correct classes in libFLAC++. This is 4 CueSheet member function and 1 Picture function. If I haven't looked properly and more functions are still missing, let me know.
Next I would like to maybe add a few convenience functions. For instance, a padding block can really only be created and given a size, but this

Could you briefly list these, in case somebody
else wants to have a go.
Many thanks,

[PATCH] Add missing functions to VorbisComment class + a few other things
Attached is a patch that adds 5 missing FLAC__metadata_object_vorbiscomment_* functions to the VorbisComment class. In my previous message I stated 8 functions were missing, but on closer inspection, 3 of those belong in the VorbisComment::Entry class, and 2 of them already have equivalent functions in there. The last one (FLAC__metadata_object_vorbiscomment_entry_matches()) does not, but I have

Patch for Metadata::Padding
Hi! Attached is a tiny patch adding a convenience function to create a Metadata::Padding object with a certain size in one statement. In a
previous message I mentioned writing some more convenience functions, but on closer inspection they would either be inefficient or very difficult
to implement.
I have also nearly finished converting the cpp file-encode example to use the C++ api, and will

Same problem with flac 1.2.1. Interesting!

[LLVMdev] [PATCH][Review request] tablegen: extend list fields
The attached patch adds a construct that enables extending the base class'
lists rather than completely overwriting them.
The patch hasn't gone through extensive testing yet (other than running
make check).
The lists can be extended either with a "+=" operator in a let statement or
placing a '"+" in front of a superclass:
- Example 1:
def D0 : C1 {

Updates to metaflac man
Hi Erik,
I've noticed a couple small things missing in the metaflac man pages.
Namely, the new sample rates provided by Earl Chew as well as the PICTURE
block being a valid block type.
Attached is a patch for metaflac.sgml and metaflac.1 that details the new
sample rates metaflac's replaygain supports. Also, there is now the
PICTURE block added as a valid block type.
Thanks!

Memory leak
During my current dealings with the FLAC library I think I discovered a memory leak. After an encoder stream has finish()'ed, I believe you are supposed to use it again by calling init(). However, when verification is enabled, the init() routine will create a new stream decoder (to verify the data) without deleting (or reusing) the existing one. A small program demonstrating this is pasted

overzealous Windows security
Hi,
I've got a MSAccess database on a linux server (fedora core 5, samba 3,
192.168.0.90)
which a Win XP client machine needs to use (192.168.0.50).
However, Access refuses to open the database because "it's not on the
LAN so is a
security risk".
How can I configure Samba so that Windows recognises 192.168.0.90 as a
local
machine, please?

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Hi Jakob, Sergei,
I've updated getLastUseBefore in r163685. I'm still looking into a couple
of errors, but I suspect that these are due to my build configuration,
rather than the patch.
Sergei - could you let me know if this fixes your issue? Thanks again for
all of your work tracking this down.

PDU support for DigiPower and Aviosys devices
Hi,
I'm thinking about adding support for PDU (Power Distribution Unit) devices
from Digipower [1] and Aviosys [2] to NUT via the SNMP interface.
The specific devices I have in mind are the following:
Digipower AMz-1623/SW-08-1
Aviosys IP Power 925x
(both are 8-port PDUs which are SNMP capable via an ethernet interface)
Does anybody have other DigiPower or Aviosys devices and if so
