SPF Record questions
I am inquiring about how to setup a proper SPF record. I know there are
SPF wizards/generators available but each seem to have a different
"opinion" of what should be included and what should not be included.
Let me give you a scenario of my setup, and hopefully someone can help
me out.
My domain is: test.com
My mailserver hostname is: mail.host.com which also has a MATCHING PTR

forwarding email with sieve of spf domains
Say someone has setup spf for his domain and sends an email to a user
that has in roundcube enabled the sieve forward. If the message is
forwarded without altering the message headers, this could result in a
message being blocked or not relayed, because sending hosts ip, is not
in the spf of the from: domain.
Possible solutions are:
- add option if enabled, it replaces the From: with that

Send SPF SoftFails to Junk
Hello Dovecot gurus,
I've set up SPF checking on my postfix gateway and have confirmed that messages from domains set with hard fails that don't come from a good sender are rejected outright. Messages from domains set with a softfail that come from bad sources are tagged in the message header with "Softfail (domain owner discourages use of this host)", but end up in the

Pigeon Sieve, redirect action and SPF
Since I've upgraded to dovecot 2.0.13 + Pigeonhole 0.2.3 (Gentoo
package) I've received a few complains of users about rejected messages.
Investigating the problem, I've seen that when the external sender
server publishes SPF information, when some message is sent from there
to one of my users that has a Sieve redirect action active to another
external system (that does SPF

How to set ''Return-Path'' in ActionMailer to avoid SPF failure?
I was wondering if there was any way to set the ''Return-Path'' of an
email when using ActionMailer. Without the ability to set the
''Return-Path'' of an email, it is impossible to avoid being labeled as
''spam'' by many SMTP gateways if trying to send mail on another''s
behalf. SPF doesn''t care about the

Bind DNS SPF Record
I know this is a bit off topic from CentOS itself, but are there any DNS
experts that would be able to e-mail me on the side and assist with some
questions I have regarding TXT/SPF records? I want to ensure my mail
doesn't bounce.

Adding dynamically more than one host at once?
Hi,
it seems not to be possible to add more than one host at once to a zone.
So
shorewall add br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0:192.168.2.11 work
fails, since "br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0" is interpreted as one interface.

iptables v1.2.9: interface name `eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0'' must be shorter
than IFNAMSIZ (15)
Try `iptables -h'' or ''iptables

CONNMARK target and connmark match support in Ubuntu kernel
Hi,
as per the shorewall MultiISP documentation ( http://www1.shorewall.net/MultiISP.html
), it says
"Use of this feature requires that your kernel and iptables include
CONNMARK target and connmark match support (Warning: Standard Debian™
and Ubuntu™ kernels are lacking that support!)."
it means MultiISP wont work properly if i am using Ubuntu server. if

Upgrade from Hell
For those of you running SuSE 9.1, I do not recommend upgrading to 9.2
at this time.
Refer to http://shorewall.net/myfiles.htm for information on my
configuration:
a) On Ursa:
1) After the upgrade, both of the NICs were recognized as "configured"
in YAST yet neither of them would start; ifup claimed that no
configuration could be found for either interface. Only got them running

Error: Rate Limiting only available with ACCEPT, DNAT[-], REDIRECT[-] and LOG
I think it would be nice to be able to rate limit an action, too..
suppose I have an action named Accept_good_source :
ACCEPT - - tcp - 1024:65535
ACCEPT - - udp - 1024:65535
and that i want to use it in an action called AllowCVS,
i can''t limit the cvs usage, but only the general use of
Accept_good_source...
same goes for userset...
as each rule will give one iptables command,

HTB. QoS and Shorewall
Group,
I am reading about tc (traffic control) and willing to get my feet wet. As requirement, there should be HTB compiled in the kernel. I grabbed a Mandrake 8.2 distro, and didn''t installed the kernel source.
Anyone knows if the HTB is compiled in Mandrake 8.2, or point a way to find that out? I tried to read the /usr/src/kernel.xxxxx/.config file, but it doesn''t exists.

Wild cards in "shorewall add" command
Hi
I am looking at converting a Linux terminal server box to iptables
using Shorewall 2.0. (At the moment it uses ipchains).
The server currently has scripts which are called as each user logs
in which run a series of "ipchains" commands to set the access
rights for that user (and again to cancel them when the user logs
out). My plan is to replace these scripts with ones that call

forwarding email with sieve of spf domains
There's no ambiguity here, if you send a message, you are the
sender. The envelope from should be yours.

ActionMailer and Sender validation frameworks ( DKIM or SPF )
What''s the directors'' take on ading DKIM or SPF functionality into
ActionMailer. Is that a function that is better addressed via a
plugin, or would an extension or a monkeypatch of this class be an
appropriate avenue of pursuit?
