Sure, I could download OpenOffice and try it, but it's nice to be able to

Hi, I am running speex wideband for speech. While doing that I am getting Hissing sound during silence. If you want I can give you input and output files. How to get podcasters to adopt Speex?
Ok, I made my own sample HTML page and it worked on a vorbis OGG file that I embedded. No need to download a player (other than the directshow filter if it isn't already installed) and no need to download sample. It just played within the browser. I should probably try to release a podcast like this at 16 kbps and see how well it's received. -----Original Message----- From: Jean-Marc

Speex 1.2 beta2 Win32 tools binaries
Hello speex development team! As I see on http://www.speex.org/downloads/ page, where is no Windows binaries for speex encoder and decoder tools for 1.2beta2 version since no maintainer for it yet. Well, I compiled it from the sources using MSYS environment and MinGW tools (GCC version is 3.4.5). Both libOgg-1.1.3 and speex-1.2beta2 were configured as "./configure

Speex with PS3 SPE support
Please correct me if I am wrong, Jean-Marc, but I do not think that any patches are getting applied to 1.0.5 anyway. Also, if you expect a patch to be applied, you will need to provide the changes as a patch, not as a modified copy of the source tree. The 1.2 branch includes a mechanism for private memory allocation from a static buffer. You provide a usermisc.h file that replaces the

Hi Jean-Marc, We needed to use a release version of the SDK because this part of production code for our Sony implementations. I'm not sure how stable that branch is. Is the encoding and decoding already stable? In other words, what is not stable about that branch? Need help on making speex AEC to work
Hello All I'm accessing speex via jni, I have successfully decoded and encoded data and capture and play it back in java. Now my challenge is speex's echo canceller. My capture and playback are not synchronized, so i got to use the method from 1.2beta2 right? What's the proper way to fit speex_echo_capture() and speex_echo_playback() into the following procedures, assuming they were

I'm glad to hear that my data size can be shrunk considerably, however I do not know the minimum values that I would set the static arrays to be. I hate to be a bother but could you tell me the minimum values for these arrays/structures in the state structure? preliminary Speex support in Sweep
Hi Jean-Marc and others, I put Speex support in Sweep (a sound editor) yesterday, and had some fun with it :) I'd like to get some feedback before releasing it publically. I'm not really used to speech codecs (I work more with music) but I've been quite impressed at the file size and quality (especially when you hear what I did with some of the sample files ;) I didn't have any

Attempting to shrink speex: Are these functions necessary?
Hi, I am using speex 1.2beta2 on a narrowband 16-bit, 8khz system that has a severe program space problem and will not fit speex in its normal operation. In an attempt to shrink speex I placed a breakpoint in every function and ran a decode and encode and removed the breakpoints that I hit. in the functions that had a breakpoint that I didn't hit I commented out those functions (as well as
