Integer Version with low bit rate for Linux Kernel?
Hello Segher Boessenkool I am writing a Linux Kernel Device-Driver for a low bitrate radio link, connected via USB to the PC. Incoming VOIP- IP Pakets go directly to the network interface of the kernel module. A transcoding from e. g. PCM or G723.1 to e. g. speex 2.15 is necessary, and also a header reduction RTP/UDP/IP. Integer Version with low bit rate for Linux Kernel?
Hello Erik, The transfer time from user space to kernel and back is not a problem, it is faster than required. > Have you measured the time taken to transfer a data packet from kernel to > user space? Have you measured the time taken to encode that packet? What > are those measurements? > If you haven't performed those measurements, putting the Speex encoder > in

can a class find out it''s instance name?
Hi friends - a javascript question.... Does the prototype object add some way for a class to find out the variable name of its instance variable? Or does javascript have some built in way to do this? This is confusing to describe - but if I define a variable as some object: var myVariable= new Widget(''fdfa''); can some built-in method inside the Widget class be

Question: backslash in file name
Hi I have a applikation (Oracle DB) which writes files with a backslash in names, i.e: Log\GEN_INPUT_BASED_2899.csv not a problem for Unix but Samba present it to Windows users as: L2CYOP~L.CSV Is there any way _in Samba_ to strip this 'Log\' and give back to user the GEN_INPUT_BASED_2899.csv part. Tha appliance (EMC Celerra) I've just migrated data from, was magicaly doing this.

systray apps invisible
I have a problem with applications residing in systray. The systray is always invisible, nowhere onscreen to be found. What the app starts I sometimes see a window showing itself and the immediately disappearing again. The applikation is running but I cannot access it. I have to start the app with desktop in order to gain access to the systray, but that surely cannot be the idea (as I do see

Before the official release of icecast2 1.0 (non beta) i would like to see pid file management, ive discussed this before on how to capture the pid, but ended up with alot of bash rigamaroo that mounted to even more headaches. omething in the config file like <pid>/path/to/icecast.pid</pid> I would be willing to donate some bandwidth to xiph, to aleaviate this issue that causes sever

Problems with repeated calls to setTimeout?
Prototype.js and Thomas''s effects scripts use repeated setTimeout calls for timed looping, for instance in time-based observers. On Konqueror 3.4.1 (possibly other khtml-based browsers, too), these observers reproducibly crash the browser. Just keeping open a browser with such an observer is enough. After some time it invariably segfaults. When I substitute setInterval for setTimeout

libpri Calling Line ID
Hey users, i've got a question about calling line id in libpri - zaptel with switchtype "q.sig". My Q.Sig partner is a Siemens F900 (HiPoint). If I enable span debug i see messages from type "CONNECT" with some kind of bit field: < Protocol Discriminator: Q.931 (8) len=87 < Call Ref: len= 2 (reference 86/0x56) (Terminator) < Message type: CONNECT (7) < [1c

"Stateless" effects
I just added the patch submitted with ticket #2133 to the SVN trunk, with slight modifications. (And yeah, I know I said "bug fixes" only till 1.5, but this patch probably counts as a bugfix). Big thanks to the contributors on this! I''ll probably will give it a second pass and will do some refactoring. Anyone want to work on/can come up with some sort of generalized

Save and delete buttons: POST vs. proximity dilemma
I''m in a dilemma: In order to keep GET requests from deleting objects, I''d like to use the button_to helper to get "something" that generates a POST request. Unfortunately, that something is a form and forms can''t be nested. I''d also like to place buttons related to the same form close to each other. At the top are some navigational buttons

Performance Problems while reading
Hi all We are using a 2 node cluster with drbd 8 (primary/primary state) and ocfs2. Reading a file on one node while it will be written on the other node is very slow. Reading a file on node while it will be written on the same node is fast. In the first case the node which wants to read the file has to ask the other to downgrade the locklevel. In my opinion this is a bottleneck, if the files are

How to get it running...
Hello List, i have a spelling and reading software i would like to get running for a primary school because they should not be using windows and the teachers really want that software. I have already tried to get it running with a few people in #winehq, but it seems that its more a guessing game than a streight debugging and solving way. O_EXCL unreliable?
Hi all, I fear I can't rely on "open (path, O_CREAT | O_EXCL)" behaviour on samba share. The libc's doc says: If both `O_CREAT' and `O_EXCL' are set, then `open' fails if the specified file already exists. This is guaranteed to never clobber an existing file. But this isn't probably true on network filesystems. When I run this tiny program on
