sppex player
Hi,
You can also use the Java jlGui Music player
(http://www.javazoom.net/jlgui/jlgui.html) with the java implementation
of Speex (http://jspeex.sourceforge.net). This will play Speex streams
and files on any platforms, including Linux, Mac and Windows, or even
inside a web page.

There is an ACM codec for I/O of WAVE files encoded in Speex.
But there is no plugin to load or save Vorbis Speex files natively,
as far as I know.

While those are good too the main purpose of a stand-alone player would
be something that people could distribute with their files(which is why
it should be small). When I say cross platform I mean that it could
easily be ported and/or have as similar an interface as all the other

Speex, what container?
But using the ACM codec I just need to put the speex content into the wave file data chunk and then windows will play it?

heatmap.2 in gplots package
Hello all,
I am using the heatmap.2 function in the gplots package. I want to supress the reordering of the columns of the data matrix i pass to the function. I used the statement,
heatmap.2(z,Colv=FALSE,dendrogram="row",col=redgreen(75))
where z, is the matrix of data. The output i want should have the rows reordered along with the dendrogram and the columns should be in the original

http://www.openacm.org and is an encoder/decoder in one package
Remember, Ogg is the outer layer surrounding the speex content, like an
envelope that holds a letter.

ACM Format Tag for Speex Audio
I have arranged for an official Speex ACM format tag from Microsoft (see below). Feel free to use this in any ACM codec work.

Speex Example Build for TI DSP C54x C55x C6x DSPs
The attached file contains build files for TI's Code Composer Studio (CCS)
for the C54x, C55x, and C6x DSPs. I had intended to post this a couple of
months ago, but it took a long time to get around to doing the little bit of
cleanup required.
This is a file I/O loopback application suitable for running with the CCS
simulators, for evaluating memory and MIPs requirements for these

Speex, what container?
I'm going to use speex to compress sound that was record from a sound board. What container should I use so it will be able to play in some sound player available for windows, ogg or wave?
If I choose to use wav container I simple have to put the speex stream into the data chunk of the wave file? I heard that there is a codec to put speex in a wav file so it can be played in windows media

Are all RC3 implementations identical?
I'm a loyal user of GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/), and recently the Ogg Vorbis support module has been updated to RC3.
Is it still safer for me to save files as WAV and then use the "official" tool (oggenc) to encode my files, or are all RC3 implementations the same, and it makes no difference with what program I encode the files, as long as the module uses the latest

I just tried this with Goldwave.. it decoded the file,
i edited out some stuff, and saved the file (flac

Speex
<speex-dev at xiph.org>
Hi all,
I'm a begginer with DSP and i need your help and suggestions.
I'm trying to use the Speex and a DSP DM642 to implement a solution with
voice! I'm using the 1.2 beta 3 distribution and the TI's Code Composer
Studio v3.1 simulator. I coosed speex_C64_test.pjt and modified the
speex_C64_test.cmd to only use the DM642 external RAM memory.
I'm

Speex 1.0.1 is out
Hi everyone,
I just released Speex version 1.0.1 with a major bugfix to the wideband
mode. It's highly recommended for people using wideband Speex to
upgrade. Also, since the old encoder and decoder had the bug, you may
notice that files encoded with 1.0 have a lower quality when decoded
with 1.0.1. For that reason, re-encoding might be a good idea. Note that
narrowband is not affected by

Speex, what container?
The aplication that I am developing is like a sound recorder (goes directly to the soundboard and start capturing the sound and writing the file, using the directsound api). I'm already capable of writing to normal wav files but I wanted to encode the audio with speex to have smaller size (and still good quality).
How can I write the wav files with speex content using the ACM codec? (like

Mono Ogg sound recorder from line-in
Hello,
Do you know of any Windows software that is able to record in mono from the
sound card's line input and at the same time convert to *.ogg?
Ultimately, one without ogg conversion would be OK too provided it can
record mono wave files.
Important: the software should be able to record WITHOUT first creating an
empty wave file with a set length (Adaptec's Spin Doctor versus Goldwave).

GoldWave 5.08 doesn't work
GoldWave v 5.08 does not work. It starts, but when try to
load any .wav file after pressing "Play" button it plays
file endlessly. After pressing "Stop" button, playing
loops - it plays endless some final part until program
will closed. I had done log with +relay,+seh,+text
parameters. It is relative big, so I do not attach it.
Instead, I pack it with BZip2 and place to

Goldwave 5
Hi all,
I am relatively new to Linux and wine and I am trying to run an audio
editing software called Goldwave 5.06 (version 4.26 works relatively
well). 5.06 installs ok but when I go to run it I get the following error:
"Driver does not support 16 bit colour depth or visual buffer could not
be created. Visual disabled."
And the meter displays do not work. I have tried adjusting
