Samba && Windows ME?
Hello, I just got a Windows ME box that I have added to my LAN. The issue is that I don't see anything indicating how to make/allow ME to work with Samba. I'm guessing that it has to do with password encryption. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Geordon

Cyrus Virtual Domains: Domain migration from Cyrus
hi, we want to migrate from Cyrus 2.x to Dovecot 1.x (!). We use the virtual domain feature from Cyrus for a better disk partitioning: /var/imap/domain.a/user/foo .. /var/imap/domain.b/user/foo .. /var/imap/domain.c/user/foo .. In a exported skiplist DB, it shows like: ================= domain.a!user.foobar 0 int foobar at domain.a lrswipcda postmaster at domain.a domain.a!user.han 0 int han

PermitRoot without-password doesn't work if AllowUsers user1 user2 set, but root not included; Also some bug in auth.c (Me thinks)
Hi list! I have some machines running openssh 3.9p1. AllowUsers is set to my users, that are allowed to login. If I set PermitRoot without-password, but do not include root in AllowUsers, root is not able to login with pubkey. I do not want to set root in AllowUsers, since the without-password option should check this allready, I think... So I made a small patch that allows me to login as root

[BUG?] Double quota calulation when special folder is present
Just hoping to get some dev eyes on this. I'm incredibly reluctant to throw the word 'bug' around (since 99 times out of 100, it's not -- it's almost always the config), but I can't think of any way that this could be a config issue, esp when the pre-2.2.34 version works as expected. I noticed during troubleshooting that dovecot errors out if I try to create a subfolder

RC2 better than RC3 ???
Since 1.0rc2 was released i have found that ogg@64k sounds almost like mp3@128k (in 95% of the 3000 files i encoded...) I tested 1.0rc3 and 64k bitrate (quality=0.0) gives less good quality than before. And bad : it takes longer to encode ! (1.7x vs. 2.0x on a P2/500MHz) Effectively 64k ogg files encoded with rc3 are smaller than files encoded with rc2. I hear people debatting on how satisfied

Disk space and RAM requirements in docs
Hi, Have anybody recently built LLVM in Debug mode /within/ space requirements from the Getting Started doc? https://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#hardware > An LLVM-only build will need about 1-3 GB of space. A full build of LLVM and Clang will need around 15-20 GB of disk space. From my experience this numbers looks drastically low. On FreeBSD my recent builds consumed more than

Zaptel under FC6
Hi, all I am building a new server. Have installed FC 6 and put in TDM400 card. Checked out latest asteriusk code, run make install in zaptel directory. So far all is fine. Now I am trying to install the drivers. # modprobe zaptel FATAL: Module zaptel not found. Fair enough, no zaptel driver is found on the system. Is there are any known problems with FC6? I did not have much trouble running

cyrus2courrier mass migration
Hello, So we've chosen to use dovecot as our imap mail server and replace our old cyrus server ! BUT : I would like to do a conversion of my imap accounts (and keep all theirs characteristics) from cyrus-imapd-2.2.12 in cyrus format to dovecot 1.1.3 in courrier format. I've tried those 3 tools : cyrus2courrier.1.5.ts cyrus2courier-1.3z4 imapsync (works well but very slow and should not

separate home "partition"?
(i use the term loosely because i know that zfs likes whole volumes better) when installing ubuntu, i got in the habit of using a separate partition for my home directory so that my data and gnome settings would all remain intact when i reinstalled or upgraded. i''m running osol 2008.11 on an ultra 20, which has only two drives. i''ve got all my data located in my home directory,

RHN-like system for CentOS?
Team, Is anyone aware of a Red Hat Network alike system of server package update status that could be adapted for CentOS3? I'm not interested in the complete management aspect (channels, scheduling remote updates, etc) but merely the ability to see your list of systems and determine which are out of date with XXX packages. If you happen to manage a large-ish number of RHES3 systems, you
