hello, In a test environment I set up two DCs. DC1.sandom.teste.com DC2.sandom.teste.com All tests requested by the wiki were done and all ok. I tried to join a Samba DC to an existing Active Directory, but after it requests the password, the following error occurs. root at dc2 # samba-tool domain join sandom.teste.com DC -U"SERTAO\administrator" --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ

Samba4 - global catalog (GC) cannot be contacted using Windows 7 RSAT
Hi Rowland, In fact currently in my test environment using the same version of OS 6.10 and Samba 4.8.5. I ran 'netstat -plaunt | egrep "ntp|bind|named|samba|?mbd"', I have :::3268, :::3269, I do not see 0.0.0.0:3268 and 0.0.0.03269. While I use a Windows PC join to my test domain, I have no issues with GC. Not sure how the GC problem can happen but seems to me it looks like a

messages_count too large (2578 > 2566) Help!
Hi, I'm having trouble as of about noon today. I noticed I wasn't getting any new messages in Thunderbird. I restarted it and still nothing. I looked at the log, and found nothing from dovecot for a long time (since perhaps noon today). I restarted dovecot, but still it didn't get me new mail. I finally removed dovecot.* in my Maildir folder and restarted dovecot. I'm

Hi Rowland, Currently using Samba 4.8.5 2 x DCs running on CentOS 6.10 (Final) Configured 1 DC via classic upgrade, and the latter DC join AD forest. 3.0.2: make_bak_dir mkdir ...: File exists (17)
Yesterday I upgraded rsync from 2.6.9 to 3.0.2 (as part of upgrading Fedora 8 to Fedora 9). Today, I received these unexpected errors: rsync: make_bak_dir mkdir "/backup/server/../server-before-5/var" failed: File exists (17) rsync: keep_backup failed: "/backup/server/var/lib/rpcbind/rpcbind.file" -> "../server-before-5/var/lib/rpcbind/rpcbind.file": Success (0)

CentOS 7.1 NFS Client Issues - rpc.statd / rpcbind
That is the thing - rpc.statd does have rpcbind a pre-req. It looks like systemd is not handling this correctly. Just wondering if anyone knows a good way to fix. root at ls2 /usr/lib/systemd/system 110# grep Requires rpc-statd.service Requires=nss-lookup.target rpcbind.target On 8/30/15 7:45 PM, Rob Kampen wrote: > On 08/31/2015 01:39 PM, Mark Selby wrote: >> I have seen some talk

Samba4 - global catalog (GC) cannot be contacted using Windows 7 RSAT
Hi Rowland, Just a curious question. Since the origin of my AD comes from PDC. If I were to try and do a classicupgrade, using same IP, same hostname, same realm, will my windows pc have login issues? Samba4 - Win7 RSAT tools - global catalog (GC) cannot be contacted
Fresh install of 4.0.6 from source on CentOS 6 minimal. Provisioning worked fine as did adding a Win7 Pro machine to the domain. Now trying to use the RSAT (Remote System Administration Tools), specifically the Active Directory Users and Computers tool. When looking at the properties for the "Administrator" account, clicking on the "Member Of" tab results in a 30 second

CentOS 7.1 NFS Client Issues - rpc.statd / rpcbind
I have seen some talk about this but have not seen any answers. I know this is a problem on CentOS 7.1 and I also think it is a problem on CentOS 7.0. Basically if I have an NFS client only config - meaning that the nfs-server.service is not enabled then I have to wait 60 seconds after boot for the 1st NFSV3 mount to succeed. What I can surmise is the following. I attempt to perform a NFS

Dear R experts.. I am trying to read data-sections in a large consolidated dataset, containing section headers and the data . There are many options available to implement, I was wondering what optimal function, to extract section headers and data (w/ columns), could be used on the dataset that looks like as provided at the end of this email? In each section of a dataset, 1st line of the section
