TE420P/TE415P?
Hi, I just read a pressrelease from VON that Digium will soon be releaseing a couple of new cards. What got me interested was: "The TE420P and TE415P support 128ms of G.168 (2002)-compliant echo cancellation across their entire 128 channels." Does anyone know when thease will be released and what they will cost when released? Thanks!

CERN using RHEL/CentOS?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, I just did my daily news scan and saw some screenshots that illustrate the press release [0] announcing the first collisions at the LHC. Those screenshots show windows and buttons that exactly match my CentOS GNOME Desktop [1]. AFAIK, SuSE/Novell has different skins, as has (Open)Solaris and AIX, for instance. So, has there anybody more

Building PXE Bootable images using the libguestfs toolchain
As part of the oVirt Node[1] project, I'm going to P.O.C. a version of the node using febootstrap 2.x instead of livecd-creator. The main reasons in doing this is for allowing a r/w root filesystem without some hacky overlayfs and just to see if it can be done. On IRC, rwmjones mentioned a few issues he ran into with febootstrap 2.x where some rpms had %post scripts which aren't really

OT: Online TTS engines?
The one I like: http://www.rhetorical.com/cgi-bin/demo.cgi is toast. I think they went broke or got aquired by someone. Also, is there a Festival voice that sounds as good as Rhetorical or the AT & T stuff? The default one is barely legible. Since Festival is a little brutal to configure, I'd like to get someone's recommendation then go through the pain of reconfiguring it only once.

Syntax of Math Text
I am looking for a reference that describes the syntax for putting mathematical text on a plot. I managed to discover some of the syntax in the manual pages for "text", "title", and "legend". In particular, I am looking for the syntax for making subscripts. I did not have much luck searching the S-news archives and http://stat.ethz.ch/R/manual/. Thank you,

Changed XP user name can't access share
What name does Windows XP Pro use when it accesses a shared folder on a Freebsd/SAMBA file server? Is it the XP's local original account name, a changed account name, the computer name or something else? I'm using an Intel Network Attached Storage appliance that runs FreeBSD with SAMBA. For more info, see http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/ib072099.htm and

ipappend and dos
I'm using ipappend and getargs.com with a dos boot image to get the environment variables for the IP and MAC. The format of the %ip% environment variable is ip=<client-ip>:<boot-server-ip>:<gw-ip>:<netmask> Is there a way to tell ipappend to assign these to individual arguments. Or does anyone know a good way to parse each of these to individual variables in dos. What

R-beta: command-line editing not working in Debian Linux version
I get great flexibility with command-line editing through the "readline" library in the "bash" editor and the "ncftp" tool. S-Plus has this editing and I see in the preliminary "Notes on R: A Programming Environment for Data Analysis and Graphics", page 65, that "R -e" might give this functionality. Typically, one can use either vi or emacs

Certificate system
Hi all, Can anybody inform me wether the "RedHat Certificate System" or actually a CentOS equivalent is available for CentOS. Just skimmed on a download site through the RPM's for 5.3 and I couldn't find it. According to their pressrelease, it the code should be gpl, allthough I can't find any rpm for RH, FC or Centos. It seems that this is one of the few CA-packages for

Make --html4tags the default?
Seeing how no-one should send application/xhtml+xml to the browser [1], and development of the HTML standard is again happening [2], it would make sense to have Markdown.pl default to HTML tags. Maybe too late to change a default though. How does PHP Markdown and other implementations deal with this issue? [1]: http://www.hixie.ch/advocacy/xhtml [2]:

7.0 issues fixed? upgrade timing?
1. I have a realtek network card and am using a cable modem router. Does anyone know if fixes for problems with these (see below) have been backported from HEAD to RELENG_7? 2. Is this a good time to upgrade to RELENG_7? 3. I read a post last week that advised that 7.1 is a long way off. Appreciate any advice on use of ULE 3.0 and ZFS prior to 7.1 and a comment on what is holding up 7.1. Thanks

Unknown rootkit causes compromised servers
Here is the applicable article: http://www.linux.com/feature/125548 There are links in the above article that explain tests for the system and what is currently known about the rootkit. Apparently initial access is NOT via any vulnerability but just guessed root passwords. There are currently 2 methods to see if you are infected: 1. In some cases, the root kit causes you to not be able to
