Domain Member Computer not showing in ADUC
I am running Samba 4.4.16 on Slackware64 14.2. I have a domain member Windows 7 workstation. I
upgraded the hardware on this computer a couple of weeks ago. I deleted the computer from
the domain, the re-joined after finishing the upgrade.
This computer show in the list with 'samba-tool group listmembers "Domain Computers"', but does
not show up in ADUC > Computers. I've

Secondary Nameserver not working
I've configured a secondary slave nameserver based on what I consider rather expert advice, but
it's not working as expected. I'm trying to determine if I've done something wrong with basic
configuration or if there are AD/DC nuances afoot.
The main nameserver is the domain Active Directory/Domain Controller running Samba 4.4.16 on
Slackware64 14.2. This has been running for a few

Samba-4.3 AD-DC Win7pro clients not time syncing
We have a Samba-4.3 AD-DC hosted on a FreeBSD-10.3 system. We have
just discovered that for some reason our domain workstations are not
synchronising their time with the AD-DC. We have not altered the
default GPO nor have we created a special GPO to handle time services.
I have been working on several of the domain clients and I cannot seem
to get them to source from the Samba server. I have

IP address getting overridden by Samba and domain member?
I have been running Samba 4 as an AD/DC for a couple of years now with few problems. I
provisioned the domain using --dns-backend=BIND9_FLATFILE and the /etc/named.conf includes the
samba-tool provision created file /var/lib/samba/private/named.conf, with zone files in
/var/lib/samba/private/dns.
All that has been working just fine for for 2 or 3 years.
Lately, I added a VirtualBox XP guest

libvirt_driver_storage.so /usr/lib64/../lib64/libfl.so.2: undefined symbol: yylex
Hello List,
I'm trying to get libvirt to work on slackware64-current
(slackware64-14.2 beta) and while it compiles just fine, it refuses to
run because of an undefined symbol:

getent problems with new Samba version
More experimentation ...
I stopped Samaba, ldbedit'ed the /var/lib/samba/private/idmap.ldb and changed the line
xidNumber: 3000026
to
xidNumber: 10001
killed the cache and restarted Samba. As I hoped, the wbinfo now showed
$ wbinfo -i mark
HPRS\mark:*:10001:10000:Mark Foley:/home/HPRS/mark:/bin/bash
which was NOT the case in my message below after killing the cache. In that previous

Binary:
$ find / -mount -type f -name samba -exec ls -l \{\} \;
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 72720 2016-12-28 14:25 /usr/sbin/samba
Doubtful an older binary would work. Previously I tried restoring

Need IP on failed logins in logfile
I used to also get related log messages of the form:
auth_check_password_send: Checking password for unmapped user [HPRS]\[mark]@[ROVER]
auth_check_password_send: mapped user is: [HPRS]\[mark]@[ROVER]
but now all I get is the auth_check_password_recv in the log. Perhaps the change is due to an
upgrade to Samba, or perhaps a change I made to my smb.conf log options? (see log config in

listing groups not working
Im having some problems with the samba 3.0.24 in Debian Etch when I try to
list the groups, like this:
wbinfo -g
or
net rpc group -U username
All the times the output of the command is... "NOTHING".
In samba 3.0.14 (Sarge), this works OK.
I don't try in a newer version of samba.
I test this with the debug on -d 4 with the rpc command and this is the
ouput (see attached files).

Hello,
There is a printer at work (a Xerox WorkCentre 5325).
I am able to print using the following command: smbclient //MyHiddenPC/MyHiddenShare -WMyHiddenDomain -c 'print my-hidden-file.pdf'.
However, it does not work when I try to print through CUPS using the following command: lp my-hidden-file.pdf.
In the CUPS error_log file, the only error I can read is: [Job 5] PID 27883

Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi,
I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop in my office's network. So
far, I'm quite happy with the results, though I have some trouble
getting the printer to work. All the other machines in my office
(server, desktops, workstation) are running Slackware64 14.1 or 14.2,
and they can all use the printer perfectly.
I installed hplip-gui and ran it. The printer is a network printer, it
