Samba 4.2 domain member fails to access files
Can be you have a few wrong entries in /var/lib/samba/private/idmap.ldb. Look for the objectSID of the affected users and compare xid to the desired uid. Also run "net cache flush" to get caching out of the way. achim~ Am 25.04.2016 um 21:52 schrieb Andreas Schamanek: > Hi everybody, 1 of 3 mostly identical domain members gives me > NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED and I fail to debug

wbinfo -u and -g gives no output
What version are you using? I also had this problem with a security update of debian. I reported this to then and they fixed it. So if you are using debian, update to the latest version and see if this works Op 8 jun. 2016 10:13 p.m. schreef Dennis Xu <dxu at uoguelph.ca>: Hi, I am checking again if there are any other suggestions. wbinfo -u and -g gives no output
The strange thing is that I cloned this server from another server, and the original server does not have the "wbinfo -u" problem. Both servers have the exact same configurations.. wbinfo -u and -g gives no output
Hi, I am checking again if there are any other suggestions. The Samba server is joined to AD successfully. I can authenticate a user using "wbinfo -a" but "wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" commands give no output. Any ideas? Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Xu" <dxu at uoguelph.ca> To:

Samba client cannot join Samba Domain
Hi, I have a server running Samba as a PDC and I'm using on-the-fly machine account creation. This works absolutely fine with Windows clients, but I cannot get a Samba client to successfully join the domain. I'm trying to join using the command 'net rpc join -Uroot', which after I've entered the password returns: Error domain join verification (reused connection):

smbpasswd doesn't prompt root for password
Hello. When I run smbpasswd from samba 3.0.23a on a MIPSEL system running Linux 2.4.20 as root, I'm NEVER asked for a password. Even when I create a new user in smbpasswd, I'm not asked: root@HD.bei.digitalprojects.com:/etc/samba# strings smbpasswd root:0:AAD3B435B51404EEAAD3B435B51404EE:31D6CFE0D16AE931B73C59D7E0C089C0:[U ]:LCT-44D63D42:

New feature in app_queue: Give members a penalty time for not answering (help testing)
Hi, I've uploaded a new patch at https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16722which adds a new option to queues.conf. The new option is notpresent-penalty, which is an amount of seconds to wait before calling a agent that doesn't answer, again. This feature is especially nice if you are using penalties on members of a queue. I would be very happy if someone could help me test this

Samba does not link to ldap
Samba can not link to ldap Samba can not retrieve password information for users. I have got stuck with the problem outlined below. I have already spent 2 weeks trying to find information on the www and various mailing lists, without success. I would be happy if someone has an idea what I have to fix. I do not particularly need ldap, so if anybody can tell me how to seperate Samba from ldap it

access denied on printer driver upload
Hi, I'm trying to upload printer drivers to my jessie samba 4.1.17 print server, but I'm getting: "Failed to add driver. Access denied", and I don't understand why. The domain join is OK (verified with net ads testjoin) and on the DC I have given the SePrintOperatorPrivilege to the Domain Admins group, of which I am a member: root at DC2:~# net rpc rights list

NT domain migration to LDAP/SAMBA
Hi, I'm attempting to migrate an NT4 domain to Samba3, and getting quite frustrated with stuff that seems not to work as advertised. I'd appreciate any help. I've set up an OpenLDAP server, and Samba 3, configured it as a BDC, and tried running "net rpc vampire". This all works, and Samba does the appropriate stuff to try and populate the LDAP database. The scripts I've

Why is an extra 'home' dir showing up?
My question is, how come daevid (on XP) sees the following directories: \\linux\dae51d \\linux\homes Shouldn't there just be the home dir only? Why does "\\linux\dae51d" show up (I assume it's b/c that's who I am logged in as on XP which maps to linux)? However, the fact that it does show up, shouldn't it be the actual HOME directory of the linux user account dae51d (as
