components for OpenPBX install
at: http://wiki.openpbx.org/tiki-index.php?page=Easy%20route%20to%20building%20OpenPBX.org A number of dependencies are listed, with a Debian slant. I have found most of these in our standard Centos repos ( snarfed spanDSP from trixbox repo). But the following I have not figured out: * linux headers for your kernel is this glibc-kernheaders? * Libssl-dev

Adduser help
at http://wiki.openpbx.org/tiki-index.php?page=Easy+route+to+building+OpenPBX.org there is the following adduser command: adduser --no-create-home --ingroup openpbx --disabled-password --disabled-login openpbx This does NOT seem to be the right format for Centos. So far, using man, I have come up with; adduser -M -g openpbx What else do I need?

Linux Kernel Timer Frequency and Asterisk
Ok here is a real geek question, I building my own linux kernel for my asterisk system and came across the kernel setting for the timer frequency. I have one of 3 hardcode choices 100Hz, 250 Hz and 1000Hz. From what I understand the default Freq was changed from 100Hz in kernel 2.4 to 1000Hz (1KHz) in kernel 2.6. Timing is a BIG issue in asterisk with all the TDM and zap channel stuff.

How do I tell if T.38 was used?
I am running Trixbox 2.4 which has Asterisk 1.4.18-1 I have kind of followed: http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20T.38 I added to sip_general_custom.conf ;NEEDED!!! t38pt_udptl = yes I did not add this to the actual SIP extension, as I assumed this being general it applies to all sip extensions, and doing a sip show peer ext# did indeed come up with t38pt_udptl = yes

Slightly OT: OpenPBX.org and Freeswitch
This is slightly OT in that it isn't specifically *-related, but I was wondering what the members of the * user community felt about these two subjects. I've been perusing the OpenPBX.org mail list and the current hot topic is the fact that their project has come to a grinding halt. They are concerned that they don't have enough people working on their project. They feel that * has

Asterisknow or Trixbox?
I am sure its been discussed before but I couldn't find it in my searches.. Looking to replace my Asterisk box (Ver 1.0 still I think) and really like the idea of an easy to use gui to manage it.. I see the contenders appear to be Asterisknow and Trixbox.. Has anyone player with both who can give me the rundown of the basic pros and cons to either.. Which will best suit my setup??..

PBX Status-like module for AsteriskNow?
I've moved from trixbox to AsteriskNow. Does anyone know if there's something like the PBX Status screen for AsteriskNow? A module the shows the status of SIP and IAX2 registry and peers, etc for all individual entries? The FreePBX System Status screen shows when something fails to register but doesn't show who it is. Rolled Distro?
Hi folks, I've been a trixbox user for a few years now but I'm thinking about jumping ship. Trixbox is great, but it's missing two features out of the box which are really important to me: outbound faxing (hylafax) and imap voicemail. I see no indication that they will be included anytime in the near future, so I have a choice to make - I've looked around at Elastix,

RAW asterisk!
I'm a network admin that maintains 3 commercial Asterisk servers for my employer. I am wanting to move away from the "pre-packaged" commercial PBXs to a more "pure" asterisk setup. The systems I have utilize a nice web GUI to make changes, but it really limits what I can do beyond what they have programmed into their GUI. Would I be better off starting with: a) Plain

Asterisk distribution for a Call Center
Dear all, I need to build a PBX based on Asterisk for a call center. I have worked with raw Asterisk but it's hard to work for big implementations think. Also I have worked with Trixbox CE for a small bussines and it was prette good, but I have not have many features like ACD. I know there is another version called Trixbox PRO -specially Call Center edition- that's not free but has got

help with RewriteRule regexp

Single vendor for IMAP VM storage
I am interested in IMAP Voicemail storage for some of my customers. Does anyone know of any vendors of asterisk appliances (physical PBXs) that provide this as a "standard feature" (or an optional standard feature)? Ultimately, I'd like to be able to have a single point of accountability for the system as a whole. I would like an intuitive & powerful configuration GUI (such as

Asterisk system for church call center
I have been asked by my church to recommend a VoIP system which can do the following. They do internet radio shows which are sometimes broadcast on radio. They are looking for a system which does the following for about 5 agents, exactly as they have described it. 1. Take incoming calls 2. Put them on hold if there is no one to handle the call immediately, or transfer them to an available
