That's a pretty old RAID controller. Kernel module support for such old
cards have been dropped by RHEL. Check the ELrepo for

Hi.
I''ve used ghost for change the ide disk for an array of scsi in raid using
an adaptec controller 2110s.
Now when I boot it didn''t boot correctly. Looking for in Internet

rebuild the initial ramdisk to contain the proper kernel modules for the
adaptec controller. But what is the kernel module for

Loading drivers during "linux rescue"
Hi
I got a new Adaptec 6405 card with a set of new harddrives.
Problem that I assumed that the card had kernel drivers, which it has but only from 2.6.39 onwards.
I installed the kmod-aacraid drivers, they see the card and drives, fine.
However, I need to get a "linux rescue" to work, thus I need to load the drivers during the boot of the resuce disk.
How do I do this?
thanks

Xen breaks aacraid
Hello,
I''m using Xen 4.0.0 compiled from source with the 2.6.31.13 kernel
that it pulls down on its own. I added support for the aacraid driver
to the kernel using ''make menuconfig'' from the
build-linux-2.6-pvops_x86_64 subdirectory, and then built and
installed the whole thing using ''make install'' from the xen-4.0.0
directory. I compiled this

aacraid monitoring tool?
I've got myself an Adaptec 2200 HW RAID card to play for couple of days. Tha
card uses aacraid device driver. Seems to work nicely, however just wandering
if there's a tool (prefferably CLI) for CentOS that can read out RAID
configuration data, status of individual drives, maybe even manage
(create/delete) RAID devices?
Thanks for any and all pointers.

Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello,
I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am
working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The
server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW
521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI
controllers, it hangs in a loop
aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen)
kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi
controller.
Had anyone had the same

Adaptec 2230SLP not detected
[I originally sent this using the wrong email address - apologies if it
appears twice]
Hello Everyone,
Has anyone tried installing CentOS 4 x86_64 on a machine with an Adaptec
2230SLP card? I've just tried it, and Anaconda could not detect the
card.
I've manually loaded the aacraid driver, which then starts the install
process. But, when the install gets to disk partitioning, the

Hardware Raid cards RAID 0 / 1
Last week we tried to install Centos on a brand new HP ML150 G2 with
AIC-8130/ Marvell SATA Raid card and it was a no go. We tried a few other
flavors of Linux as a test and all had trouble as well. Unfortunately time
didn't permit so we opted for a Windows solution to get the box into
production.
We have never had a problem with IDE and Embedded SATA (Non Raid)
Next time we want to

Clocksource boot issues 4.9.13
Hi all
I?ve got a few Intel Z87 chipset machines with Adaptec 5405 raid cards (latest firmware), they work fine on 3.18 but during Dom0 boot using kernel 4.9.13 it hangs at ?Using clocksource tsc? and the aacraid driver keeps trying to reset
Has anyone seen anything like this?
I?ve tried specifying clocksource=xen in grub instead of the default of tsc, and that has the same issue. HPET is

WD RE4-GP Dropped From Raid
Hi All,
I have a WD RE4-GP which dropped an Adaptec 51645 RAID controller. I ran a
smartctl short test on the drive and it failed with a read error. So I ran
the Western Digital's own diagnostic software (DLGDIAG), both the short
and extended test on the drive and it passed with no errors. So I ran the
smartctl short test again and again it failed. I then ran smartctl long
test and that

terrible problems with Xen on SLES 10.2 / 11
Hello everyone,
I''m totally new to Xen and trying to run it on some platforms (x86, x64)
using SLES (that is what I have to use for reasons other than technical).
Several machines on which I tried using Xen simply fails to run normally
using Xen kernel: either network communication is not functioning at all
despite proper configuration (that works on non-Xen kernel), or the
kernel

Adaptec SCSI Card 2930LP supported by CentOS 5.x?
Hi,
for a specific application we need a low-profile SCSI card (PCI) with
external 50pin connector. I thought about getting an "Adaptec SCSI Card
2930LP". However I was not able to find any usable information about
wether this card is supported by Linux/CentOS 5.x or not. Does anyone
have this card working with a CentOS 5.x machine?
Alternatively: Are there any linux-supported

Adaptec Host Raid
Hi All,
I need to install CentOS 4.0 x86_64 using Adaptec ASC-29320A with HostRAID
enabled, but it seems my card isn't recognized. I've tried to install the
hardware using driver downloaded for RHEL 4.0 from the Adaptec Website, but
still it's unrecognized.
P.S. I'm able to install RedHat 9.0 using this card before.
Is there anyone have any solution for this?
Thanks and

linux-2.6-xen kernels and initrds
I have a question regarding the building of the unified xen kernel
(linux-2.6-xen) and the use of initrd. In the past I built both xen0
and xenU kernels; the xen0 default configurations had SCSI and Fusion
MPT support compiled into the kernel. Now, they are built as modules.
The problem is that I am unable to boot the xen kernel built that way,
even though I am building an initrd. I have

Supermicro Adaptec AIC-9410 HostRAID controller
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

CentOS 5.3?
I'm working with a Supermicro X7DBR-3 motherboard. It has 2 "ICH Raid
Codebase" options in the Bios (Intel and Adaptec); neither of which seem
to change Linux's behavior. The interesting part though, choosing
either Adaptec or Intel, then performing
