I use FreeBSD. Windows Firefox shows Chinese fine. But some simple windows programs just show black boxes instead. Is there a documentation anywhere explaining how to make Chinese fonts work? Yuri

I'm interested in getting a Chinese optical character recognition program to run under wine. http://www.twinbridge.com/Products/SharpEye/ocr.html According to the web site, it may run on Windows 95 as well as the old Windows 3. The problem I am currently facing is that the Chinese characters that are posted on my site which are encoded with UTF-8 become scrambled for some reason overnight (I check the next morning). Chinese characters appearing in IE title bar
I'm running Wine .99 on a PCLINUXOS p-92 box (Mandrake derivative). I've successfully installed IE using wine tools. I've additionally installed all the base software and fonts. Yet, when I open IE, it displays Chinese characters in the title bar of the window. The menus and web pages display correctly, and it otherwise works well, though Windows Media doesn't seem to work -

Printing Chinese (NJStar)
Hi, I'm not sure about the status on printing in WINE. I have looked through the FAQ (out of date... the psdrv seems to have changed, but I got changes from looking at crossover, and found it to be in the registry now) and gotten printing to work well in the Wine 20020411 (yeh, quite old). I have also managed to install NJStar (www.njstar.com) Chinese WP 4.3 without too big a problem
