Port forwarding for KVM
Hi all,
Let me illustrate what I want to do. I want to launch a QEMU
"inside" a KVM virtual machine, then get that QEMU's vnc output.
I am using libvirt 0.9.13 (`libvirtd --version`), and attach is
my vm's original config xml. Is there a simple way to achieve my goal?
I was told that iptable solution I found on the web is for "tap"
interface, and I can use

Mean calculation by two variables
Hello All,
I have a data frame (dput information below) with food item weight for fish
species.
I need to calculate the Mean proportion by weight of each food item for
each specie, as show in solution data frame (dput information below).
I use the ddply function (plyr package) in two steps. First calculate the
proportion of weight for each individual:
step1 = ddply (example, .(ID), transform,

Here is my situation:
I use samba with LDAP, and everithing is working fine.
With smbldap-tools, I created the group and with <net groupmap list>
I see that it maps rigth to Unix Group:

qemu - could not load kernel and dynamic ownership setting
Hi,
I am getting following 'qemu: could not load kernel' error while trying to create a new VM using virt-install or virt-manager. The software versions are as follows: CentOS 6.2, Libvirt 0.9.4, qemu-kvm 2:0.12.1.2-2.209.el6_2.1.
The qemu.conf has disabled dynamic_ownership setting. The VM instantiation has worked fine before when dynamic_ownership was enabled (default). So is this

[XCP] - XCP -> HCL
I''m needing to put a network card on a test server XCP 1.0.
I''m seeing the citrix hcl (http://hcl.xensource.com) and I''m a doubt. I base
that on which version to look for a compatible card?
If the kernel is the same as in 5.6.0 FP1, but if the version of XCP uses
the hypervisor 3.4.2 neither appears on the list.
ps: I had a RTL-8169 but stopped working with update 0.5

Which objects does dynamic_ownership apply to?
Hi, I'm playing with dynamic ownership and not all objects have their
owners changed.
Is dynamic_ownership and its scope documented somewhere, besides the
comment in qemu.conf?
And what kinds of objects are handled by dynamic ownership? While some
objects seem to be handled, other objects are apparently unaffected.
For instance /dev/hwrng or a USB host device keep their root owners and

[PATCH 2/2] drm/mediatek: Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops
Fixes a build failure with mediatek.

[PATCH 2/2] drm/atomic: Create and use __drm_atomic_helper_crtc_reset() everywhere
We already have __drm_atomic_helper_connector_reset() and
__drm_atomic_helper_plane_reset(), extend this to crtc as well.
Most drivers already have a gpu reset hook, correct it.
Nouveau already implemented its own __drm_atomic_helper_crtc_reset(),
convert it to the common one.

(performance) time in Windows vs Linux
Hi, all.
I began to migrate my R codes from Windows to Linux and surprised me
with an old question. I simplified the problem and made a little test to compare times at same
computer and the Linux time is worse (not so little) than Windows time:
28 vs 53 seconds.
I make an example (below) to facilitate all to see the difference.
I also build from source (it's my first time) a version of R to

qemu-system-x86_64 does not support fw_cfg option
Hi
I am trying to run CoreOS (Container Linux) as a guest OS using
KVM/QEMU. One of their suggestions is to pass config info into the VM
using the "fw_cfg" option . When I try this I get the error "-fw_cfg
invalid option". If I run the vm with the help option it does not list
the fw_cfg option. However, according to the qemu documentation, see

GSoC - Improve parallelism-aware analyses and optimizations
Hello! My name is Emanuel and I am an undergraduate student from Brazil (at

I currently do research on autotuning of LLVM IR optimization passes and I
am sitting for a class about parallel computing, but I have been studying
