Wine distro with MS WOS look and feel
i think that if a distribution with MS WOS XP and 7 look and feel based on Gnome and Ubuntu or debian is released a lot of people would migrate. People is comdortable with what they know, even Gnome is easy to use, they like Control panel, Documents and Settings and Start vuttons from MS WOS. If program Icons should be in desktops, an start button with a control panel, My documents and so one,

Strange issues with clients using Samba
Hi all, Im currently having an issue with Samba (at least thats where I believe the problem lies) and Windows 2000 and Windows XP clients. The problem occurs when some of the clients will go to load a document with Word or Excel, and lo, the client machine crashes, or the program opening the document freezes. This is usually worked-around as the offending program will generally work OK if the

Could "incomplete final line found" be more serious than a warning?
Dear all, I've been successfully reading Web of Science-data from tab-delimited text files into a data.frame using an R-script based on readLines(). With new data I just downloaded I suddenly get this warning: incomplete final line found I know this warning has already been discussed numerous times but none of the previously suggested solutions worked for me, unfortunately; so please

Cleaned up belkinunv diff
Hi Peter Now I can get subdrivers to have ups.conf/command-line options, I've started looking at making the newhidups belkin-hid subdriver have the wait and wait-on-shutdown behaviour in the same was as belkinunv, and having just gone back and gone "yuck!" at my huge comments in my revised belkinunv source, I decided to clear out all the extraneous commentary in my

package Rgraphviz or similar
Hello R users I am looking for a package to visualize "relatively planar" directed graphs, with say 100 nodes and specified using an adjacency list. 'Rgraphviz', currently listed on the R-FAQ, seemed suitable (FAQ version 2.9.2009-06-05) But when I looked for the package, I found it had been recently "removed" and was instead directed to archive copies

ZFS and Live Upgrade
Is there any update/work-around/patch/etc as of the S10u4 WOS for the bugs that existed with respect to LU, Zones, and ZFS? More specifically, the following: 6359924 live upgrade needs to include support for zfs I can''t even find that bug ID on bugs.opensolaris.org (or via sunsolve when I''m logged in for that matter) anymore. Basically, one couldn''t put zoneroot on

Determinism in the Inlining order?
Hi all, Just wanted to see if anyone could answer this dumb question I had. I wrote a bisector for the inliner based on caller/callee at Inliner.cpp, but I am getting conflicting results. Does anyone know if the inlining order is deterministic? Regards, Kevin Intel WOS -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

new R-wiki page: display image files
Hello R-help My recent post on this topic has now been reworked and added to the R-wiki. http://wiki.r-project.org/rwiki/doku.php?id=tips:graphics-misc:display-images I am more than happy to take comments (on or off-line) and enter any relevant changes. Regarding the proposed R documentation list, I think this could be a good idea and probably a better place for this kind of traffic.

documentation / An Intro to R / list manipulation
Hello R users http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-intro.html An Introduction to R 6.2 Constructing and modifying lists After a short but successful struggle with nested associative arrays (using named lists), I think the following documentation change might be beneficial. The existing description and example (see below) implies that the given statement would transfer the component

Pareto frontier plots in three dimensions
Hello all This is my first posting for some years. I am back using R again and must say I do like the language (regarding scripting, I also use matlab, perl, and bash). My question involves plotting a Pareto frontier in three dimensions. This is strictly a exercise in visualization, I make no attempt to extract the Pareto set (aka dominating subset) first. EXAMPLE PLOTS For some example

Registry entry to change MIDI mapper changed?
I'm trying to get the MIDI music for the 1996 SegaSoft game Lose Your Marbles (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9196) working. The game itself remains Platinum under 1.3.34-- it runs great, without any overrides, and the sound effects work fine too... it's just the MIDI music that does not play, or rather, is not heard. I went to the Wiki and performed all

Gamepad Support
Hello, I have a big problem: I recently bought a gamepad (Speedlink) which is perfectly supported by Mafia - The city of Lost Heaven. But now, I tried it with several other games (18 wheels of steel, Farming Simulator 2011), but it is not recognized. Farming Sim 2011 doesn't recognize any button or axis pressed. 18 WoS - Pedal to the metal does recognize the gamepad itself (even twice), but
