Compile Samba without AD/ADS for a slim installation
I am trying to compile samba4 for a raspberry pi. I just want it to be
able to share a folder of files. I do not need or want all the
functionality and features of a full blown samba installation. This i s on
Arch and it is an armv6 raspberry.
I have some partial instructions for compiling without ad-dc and ads but
keep getting a failed build. I have been grepping all over and I have been
unable

Howto Superimpose Multiple Density Curves Into One Plot
I have a data that looks like this:
http://dpaste.com/88561/plain/
And I intend to create multiple density curve into one plot, where each curve
correspond to the unique ID.
I tried to use "sm" package, with this code, but without success.
__BEGIN__
library(sm)
dat <- read.table("mydat.txt");
plotfn <- ("~/Desktop/flowgram_superimposed.pdf");
pdf(plotfn);

Interesting problem with write data.
Hi,
Recently, I made a btrfs to use. And I met slowness problem. Trying
to diag it. I found this:
1. dd if=/dev/zero of=test count=1024 bs=1MB
This is fast, at about 25MB/s, and reasonable iowait.
2. dd if=/dev/zero of=test count=1 bs=1GB
This is pretty slow, at about 1.5MB/s, and 90%+ iowait, constantly.
May I know why it works like this? Thanks.

Memory leak - how to investigate
My web & name server runs out of memory from time to time, to the point
where it's completely unresponsive to anything. At that point reset is
the only alternative. (Or, as this is a virtual guest, I just say "virsh
destroy").
But why this happens - I would like to know.
The host in question is a KVM guest, and runs CentOS 6.4.

[PATCH] to fix 2 pam issues
Timo,
I finally made the time to backport a pam fix I created for proftpd over
to dovecot, that allows FreeBSD's pam_group to work as expected. (the bug was
escalated to me internally hehe.. ).
I also noticed an issue while testing that will be confusing to users. If the
docs stay as is, or the other half of this patch is applied, then when the
dovecot.conf contains:
passdb pam {

Shorewall and OpenVPN woes
Ok. I''m knocking down one problem at a time.
I''ve managed to figure out how to bridge my tap0 and my eth1 with br0.
This is good stuff.
But if I have shorewall running, I can''t ping the local network at all.
If I have shorewall not running, I can ping the local network.
Here is my setup.
Firewall/NAT box:
eth0 - DHCP from cable provider
eth1 -
