[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Remove duplicate ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE definition
From: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas at google.com> Commit 3a6536c51d5d ("drm/nouveau: Intercept ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE") added a definition of ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE because <acpi/video.h> didn't supply one. Later, commit eff4a751cce5 ("ACPI / video: Move ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_* defines to acpi/video.h") moved ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE and other definitions to

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Intercept ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE
Various notebooks with nvidia GPUs generate an ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_PROBE acpi-video event when an external device gets plugged in (and again on modesets on that connector), the default behavior in the acpi-video driver for this is to send a KEY_SWITCHVIDEOMODE evdev event, which causes e.g. gnome-settings-daemon to ask us to rescan the connectors (good), but also causes g-s-d to switch to mirror

[PATCH] acpi: video: Move ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_* defines to acpi/video.h
acpi_video.c passed the ACPI_VIDEO_NOTIFY_* defines as type code to acpi_notifier_call_chain(). Move these defines to acpi/video.h so that acpi_notifier listeners can check the type code using these defines. [PATCH 0/9] drm/nouveau/kms: A bunch of runtime_pm fixes
While working on refactoring how we handle connector hotplugging/probing + a bunch of misc DP stuff, I found a bunch of runtime_pm errors that were mostly introduced by me at one point. Oops. A lot of these aren't triggered consistently on a lot of systems, so it's not terribly surprising these got swept under the rug. Lyude Paul (9): drm/nouveau/kms: Handle -EINPROGRESS in

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau: Rename acpi_work to hpd_work
We need to call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() on resume to properly detect monitor connection / disconnection on some laptops. For runtime-resume (which gets called on resume from normal suspend too) we must call drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() from a workqueue to avoid a deadlock. Rename acpi_work to hpd_work, and move it out of the #ifdef CONFIG_ACPI blocks to make it suitable for generic work.

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Fix drm poll_helper handling
Commit cae9ff036eea effectively disabled the drm poll_helper by checking the wrong flag to see if the driver should enable the poll or not: mode_config.poll_enabled is only set to true by poll_init and it is not indicating if the poll is enabled or not. nouveau_display_create() will initialize the poll and going to disable it right away. After poll_init() the mode_config.poll_enabled will be true,

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Prevent handling ACPI HPD events too early
On most systems with ACPI hotplugging support, it seems that we always receive a hotplug event once we re-enable EC interrupts even if the GPU hasn't even been resumed yet. This can cause problems since even though we schedule hpd_work to handle connector reprobing for us, hpd_work synchronizes on pm_runtime_get_sync() to wait until the device is ready to perform reprobing. Since runtime

[PATCH 0/2] drm/nouveau: Fix connector memory corruption issues
This fixes some nasty issues I found in nouveau that were being caused looping through connectors using racy legacy methods, along with some caused by making incorrect assumptions about the drm_connector structs in nouveau's connector list. Most of these memory corruption issues could be reproduced by using an MST hub with nouveau. Cc: Karol Herbst <karolherbst at gmail.com> Cc: stable

[PATCH 0/3] drm/nouveau: extend the lifetime of nouveau_drm
Hi folks, Currently, when the device is removed (or the driver is unbound) the nouveau_drm structure de-allocated. However, it's still accessible from and used by some DRM layer callbacks. For example, file handles can be closed after the device has been removed (physically or otherwise). This series converts the Nouveau device structure to be allocated and de-allocated with the

[PATCH 2/2] drm/nouveau: Prevent redundant connector probes from ACPI
On the Lenovo P50 I've been working on, ACPI notifications for hotplugs always seem happen even while the GPU has it's hotplugs enabled. This means that we're uselessly scheduling two connector probes every time we get a hotplug. Since we can't unregister the acpi handler without causing userspace to start getting mysterious keypresses from the ACPI_VIDEO_REPROBE events that are

[PATCH v6 0/5] Fix connector probing deadlocks from RPM bugs
Latest version of https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/46815/ with some significant improvements: - I finally figured out a clean way to do this entirely with runtime PM helpers, no avoiding grabbing refs required! - Since this new method removes the need for a lot of the other changes I made (although we probably still want those changes, but not for fixing these deadlocks)
