nouveau. swiotlb: coherent allocation failed for device 0000:01:00.0 size=2097152
Greetings,
Kernel bound workloads seem to trigger the below for whatever reason.
I only see this when beating up NFS. There was a kworker wakeup
latency issue, but with a bandaid applied to fix that up, I can still
trigger this.

how to use 'which' inside of 'apply'?
Hello R-community,
I am trying to populate a column (doy) in a large dataset with the first
column number that exceeds the value in another column (thold) using the
'apply' function.
Sample data:

GF114 [GeForce GTX 560 Ti] (rev a1) slow and flickering display
I recently replaced a 8600 GT with the above card on openSUSE Tumbleweed
x86_64.
The screen now flickers and when I change desktops it takes a some 10 to
15 seconds to display the new windows.
e.g if I change from desktop 1 (konsole) to desktop 8 (thunderbird) it
switches but konsole is displayed for 10 to 15 seconds before
thunderbird appears.
Occasionally the screen flickers wildly before

RFC: Improving performance of HashString
According to...
https://github.com/rurban/smhasher/blob/master/README.md
Bernstein has quality problems (while xx is as good as you get in a
non-crypto hash), and xx is 7x (32 bit) - 12x (64 bit) faster.
That's on long strings. It would be worth checking the startup overhead for
typically short identifiers in programs.
See later on in the README:
"When used in a hash table the

Version control for deployment?
If I can get root access, I''ll use version control for deployment as
well... It beats ftp and scp hands down for speed. Setting up a
repository on a remote server means I get automatic off-site backup as
part of the development cycle, and deployment/site update is as simple
as a three word command line entry. Small changes on remote test sites
can be made with Vim (or your *nix

Question about updates again
Presumably, the CentOS 4.3 update is not far away. I have CentOS on
several servers now and am doing automatic updates. What can I excpect
when the actual update gets pushed? Is there an inclrease in the number
of patches? Does it happen all in one day? And if so, how much notice
do I have?
Although I asked on the list a while back, I got some answers that
implied said that at update

nouveau doesn't recognize my hdmi monitor
I have an ASUS UX50V laptop with a "NVIDIA Corporation: G98M [GeForce G
105M]" video card. Linux Mint 18.1 64-bit is installed with
xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.12-1build2. The Nouveau driver does not
seem to be recognizing my HDMI monitor that's plugged in. Here's the output
of xrandr:

Multi-line graph?
Hi,
I am relatively new to R but not to graphing, which I used to do in Excel
and a few other environments on the job. I'm going back to school for a PhD
and am teaching myself R beforehand. So I hope this question is not
unacceptably ignorant but I have perused every entry level document I can
find and so far I'm out of luck.
I'm trying to graph some simple music psychology data.

How to work out 3-way probabilities
Hello.
I have a quick question.
I try to use logit regression, to work out probabilities in the sport event.
I have work out probabilities for group of 2 players:
p1 - probability, what player1 will beat player2
p2 - probability, what player2 will beat player1
pt - tie probability, p1 <- 1 - p1 - p2;
Now i want to work out probabilities for group of 3 players, like:
pg1 - probability, what

Mongrel 1.0.1 Officially Released
Alright folks, after nearly a month of pounding and beating up the Mongrel 1.0
RC1 release we''re putting out the official 1.0.1 release.
Read all about it at the (much funnier) news posting:
http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/news.html
For those people in a hurry, the gems should hit the mirrors and you can install using your usual commands. Refer the the above page for more help.

Meetme with moderator
All,
I have been beating my head against a wall trying to figure out how I would
implement a separate moderator code and participant code for the same
conference using meetme, the deal is I dont want the participants to be able
to join until the moderator is in the conference.
Is it possible to do this using the apps as they are , or is their a way to
use an Agi script, is that the only way?

[PATCH 4/7] drm: Move the legacy kms disable_all helper to crtc helpers
It's not a core function, and the matching atomic functions are also
not in the core. Plus the suspend/resume helper is also already there.
Needs a tiny bit of open-coding, but less midlayer beats that I think.
