Help Me to Adjust the R Code
Hi, The following code, from Angelo Canty article on line "Resampling Methods in R: the boot Package, 2002", works fine for Angelo Canty using R 2.6.0 on Windows XP. It also works for me using R 1.2.1 and S-PLUS 2000 on Windows XP after installing the S-PLUS bootstrap library, with slight differences in my outputs. > library(boot) > library(survival) >

Status of Vorbis in Realplayer
Hi: I'm working with an internet station. The station manager and I firmly believe in Ogg Vorbis. We already run transcodes of the 56k MP3 stream so modem listeners have the opportunity to hear stereo. We'd like to change our primary stream to Vorbis ultimately, but that will involve overcoming a number of challenges, not the least of which will be getting all the broadcasters to

Logging rsync results using >> not getting all output
I currently use a patched version of rsync 2.6.3 with support hfs+ file systems. Running on Mac OS 10.4 (Server). It works great but I cant get the output to work correctly. This is the command I use in the script: rsync -av --hfs-mode=appledouble /Volumes/x/x/ root@192.168.1.1:/Volumes/x/x/x/x/ >> $LOGS This give me output like this: building file list ... done Personnel/Library

Problems with RealPlayer & Icecast
I've been getting reports from people that my Icecast streams are not working when RealPlayer is used for playback. They all say that the stream plays for 5-10 seconds, then the connection just drops. I tried it using RealPlayer 8 on Windows2000, and got the same results. Winamp, on the other hand, works perfectly. I tried playing other streams on the Icecast yp server, and it seems to play

hxplay versus realplay
Interesting. I downloaded and installed both HelixPlayer-0.4.0.187-20040615.i586.rpm and RealPlayer-0.4.0.186-20040615.i586.rpm on my Mandrake 10.0 system. With hxplay, the theora sample video, Mixtape.small.ogg, played as well as it does with mplayer 1.0pre4, which is reasonably well. But when I tried to watch it with realplay, the program choked and died. Also, when I tried to watch

FW: Problem with Intros in Relay with RealPlayer
Your assumption was correct - I remade the MP3 without the ID3 tags and the intro plays correctly in RealPlayer! Fruity Loops
With Winetricks, Fruity Loops seems to be working well. The only thing that is not working right now is the packs. I can't figure out why the packs aren't working. If I click on the bass pack, it produces sound; if I click on one of the choir packs, no sound is produced. Linux reads the bass pack as pcm encoded. Linux isn't able to read all the packs that aren't working.

RPMS's -- Standalone or From Sources?
Dear friends: [Using the Centos 4.4 DVD) I will spend the next few days reading the documentation for Centos/RedHat. But meanwhile, I would like, while reading it, to listen to my favorite radio programs which require RealPlayer. So, my question is simply: should I download the RealPlayer RPM from www.real.com or should I download it from an rpm repository source? While I am at, what about

RealPlayer10 on CentOS5 / i386
Hi, I've installed what I believe is the latest realplayer direct from www.real.com and I'm getting silence. Video works- but no audio. No error messages anywhere but just silence. The Adobe flash player plugin works in Firefox ok, so I'm guessing the error is within my realplayer settings. The file that I've downloaded is RealPlayer10GOLD.bin and help/about reports version

Oh, the problems that RealPlayer causes run much deeper than this - and aren't solved quite that easily. The fix below *should* work, certainly - but it won't. Anyone experiencing conflicts after installing or updating Winamp or RealPlayer should read through the stuff in the support forum at www.winamp.com. > You should ook around in Realplayer's configuration setting. > The

OT: Latest Linux Real player
Hi: I know this is off-topic, but figured someone here would know, particularly given Xiph's involvement in Helix. Up till now I've used TRplayer <http://linux-speakup.org/trplayer.html> to play Realmedia content. This is because, as a Blind person, I've no need or desire for X11, and TRplayer uses the Realplayer libs without all that X overhead. but now I would like to play

files on bricks but not on client
Hi all - We're running a 3-node distributed volume, using gluster 3.3.1. We're seeing a rare but repeated issue, where files are written to the volume, appears to be written OK, but are not accessible via NFS or the gluster client. These files appear when we inspect the bricks directly. For example, the path in question is

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Just checked using RealPlayer Windows 10.5 latest release. This also glitches. This is more than likely due to the differences in metadata between SHOUTcast and Icecast2. This is exactly the reason I was asking for the exact differences between the protocols so I can help get these things fixed with the player folks. Real is not the only player with this problem. I may be in the AAC/aacPlus camp,
