Playing Games with Wine while listening to music
I have this problem: When playing a PC game via wine while listening to music with let's say Amarok, there's no sound in the PC game anymore. It's like the sound channel is occupied by the music player so wine cannot playback any soundfiles. Sounds are working if I play a Linux game like Nexuiz while running some music via a music player (ok, completely different, I know, but

Shockwave - any progress?
I have achieved much of what I wanted to achieve using Wine, with one exception. I was hoping to be able to use Shockwave content, but despite installing Firefox and the Shockwave plugin, it does not work - it seems to stop after the promotional film before the actual requested content. I know there are "pay" solutions to this problem, but was wondering if anyone had found a free

I started winetools to do the configuration and completed each step of the base install one at a time until

OED2 CDROM only displays small caps font
Hi. I've recently updated to Suse 9.3, and my OED2 CDROM software no longer works properly under Wine - the dialog and general system text of the application still displays properly, but the application data, the results lists and definition text, doesn't. Essentially, the problem seems to be that Wine seems to think that this kind of text has to be displayed as small caps. The

Can WMI be used in WINE apps?
Hi, After some googling I've found that there's very little said about the possibility of using WMI from Wine. Has someone done any progress about it? I find this subject very important; if you feel interested here's why: One may think this is a somehow fanciful intention, after all WMI exists for the purpouse of administering Windows, and no doubt that's best done from
