Clients send tons of Notiftication requests
Hi everybody! I have a QNAP at home running firmware 4.4.2.1273 and I have configured it with NFS (for my iMac and FireTV) and SMB access (standalone server, for Win10 and iPhone/iPad Files access) Everything went fine till a certain point where many application would crash or behave in a very strange way when accessing SAMBA shares. Application can be Explorer++, OneCommander or File.app from

setting up CYBERPOWER CP1500PFCLCD
Hi, Another beginner question. I spend hours trying to find the solution for how to configure winnut properly but I' struggling to make it work. I want my QNAP NAS TS-231 to work as a master and send signal to the PC to shut it down during power outage. I configured QNAP properly (like this: http://geekbeat.tv/qnap-adding-external-devices-qnap), but I don't know what to do next. I work

Proposed apcsmart driver patch
G'day y'all, Here's a tiny patch set for drivers/apcsmart.c and drivers/apcsmart.h. Adds APC SmartUPS 1250 ("8QD" case) + 940-0024C recognition to apcsmart. (Unpatched apcsmart.c v1.99.8 misidentifies the SmartUPS 1250 as a "dumb" UPS.) For NUT 2.0.5+. NUT 2.0.5: Patches apply successfully. Builds successfully. Works as expected under Ubuntu 7.04. Re: Help with Win10
Hi Rich, Thanks for the pointer. It looks like add_viostor_to_driver_database() is the routine that I need to mimic. I'll try that out in the morning. I've been staring at this problem for so long that my eyes are crossing. Thank you very much for the quick reply! JP On Tue, Feb 9, 2016 at 12:11 AM, Richard W.M. I changed IP to NAS IP instead of my PC IP and also used NAS login and pass. Didn't work. When I wanted to launch WinNUT with new settings I got: "Fatal error: insufficient power configured!" Win10 cant connect to DomainController
Hai basti, Few tips here you can check/try. A know problem, this might happen if your primary dns and/or search dns are not correct when connected to the VPN. See if you can use \\host.dnsdomain.tld\share and not \\host\share Then test \\dnsdomain.tld\sysvol and \\dc.dnsdomain.tld\sysvol Last, if you trying to access through CNAME, you might have hit this bug.

SMBx differences re Win10 in Samba4 NT4 DC
Given an existing NT4 Samba 4 DC, a recently upgraded Win10 machine can no longer access NETLOGON to authenticate to the network. This lead to the research revealing that my Samba4 PDC SMB.CONF must be changed to limit MAX PROTOCOL = NT1 to avoid negotiating a version of SMB2 from Win10 that Samba4 can't resolve. Doing this broke authentication via other resources that no longer support NT1,

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and I've updated UDEV a bit too. When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

Re: Clock skew on Win10
Hi, I haven't received any replies to this, but I'm still having a problem with clock skew on Win10. How can I troubleshoot this? I'm pretty sure the clock settings are correct from within Windows, but when the VM resumes from the host sleeping, the clock is off by some seemingly random number of hours. Any ideas greatly appreciated. On Tue, Mar 12, 2019 at 9:17 AM Alex

KVM on CentOS 7 - sluggish performance with Win10 Guest
Hey all,  I've been running a Win10 Pro (64bit) guest for some time now.... and originally it was pretty snappy and I had no complaints. Somewhere in about the last 3-6 months I've been noticing sluggish performance -- but not overall. The system is mostly remote so I do a lot of my admin via RDP or the local console with the KVM Manager. I recently did a complete fresh install of

samba 3 domain and win10 logon scripts

You are using Samba 3, I'm using Samba 4. Anyway: In my experiments I also had to set an additional regpatch for Win10 and a Samba 4.3.x NT4-style domain for logon scripts - otherwise the logon scripts are not
