SAMBA 4 acting as Domain Server- Is Exchange 2010 capable of being installed?
Hello All, SAMBA 4 is a great advancement, and I have it up and running in a lab environment authenticating Cisco UCM LDAP queries... I am attempting to install an Exchange 2010 deployment for integrated UM testing. As I attempted to extend the schema of the SAMBA 4 AD (setup /ps), the setup program came back and reported the following: "The Domain Controller 'smb4.homelab.int' is

Using ssd disks for kvm guests
Hi all, Recently I have acquired a supermicro e200-8d micro server to use it as my homelab. It is equipped with two ssd disks. My idea is to install several kvm guests on it, but I have some doubts about what type of filesystem (ext4 or xfs?) or block to use (lvm). Recommendations? Do I need to accomplish some type of running if I choose to use ext4 or xfs?? Thanks.

vfs fruit requires filesystem with extended attributes support?
Why do you want TM to work over samba? Not sure it is supported completely by Apple although they did have developer documentation on it at one time: https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/releasenotes/NetworkingInternetWeb/Time_Machine_SMB_Spec/ I did see this on reddit, but have not tried it personally:

Set http_proxy environment variable for package install?
Hi, I''m attempting to use Puppet with Vagrant to setup some boxes. My desktop is sitting behind a corporate HTTP proxy. This is my current (rather Spartan) manifests file: package { "python-pip": > ensure => "installed" > } > package { "build-essential": > ensure => "installed" > } When I do this, Vagrant appears to

NUT-Installer-2.6.5-6.msi on Hyper-V Server 2016
Hi, I'm trying to get NUT-Installer-2.6.5-6.msi working on my homelab Hyper-V Server 2016, so this is Hyper-V variant that is free ... without a desktop experience. I got it installed perfectly, but it seems to display any information from my APC UPS connected to my Synology NAS. etc\nut.conf MODE=netclient etc\upsmon.conf MONITOR ups at 192.168.1.10 1 upsmon secret slave When I run

R seven years ago
Hello everyone, As some may know, today Google unveiled its 2001 search index [1]. I was curious to see how was R like at that time, and was not disappointed. Compared to today's main page [2], seven years ago the page looked [3] a bit rudimentary, especially the graphic. (It is wort noting that structurally the pages are very similar.) What definitely changed is the `Contributed

It was twenty years ago today...
Xapian has turned 20! Strictly speaking it was 20 years ago last month but I managed to miss the true anniversary - the oldest commit in the Xapian repo is: commit 8ced76ea128c8fb2792477e09b41fa989f2e572f Author: Richard Boulton <richard at tartarus.org> Date: Fri Sep 10 09:50:40 1999 +0000 Martins initial code, which didn't work for him but did for me. How to setup the NUT client on Windows?
Hi Roger, Thanks very much for your answer. I appreciate! > The silence says that there is currently very little interest in NUT on > Windows, and to the best of my knowledge no-one is working on it. I would not argue the fact that there's obviously less interest in NUT on Windows than on Linux. But still, some few comments: 1/ There's maybe LESS interest, but there's some

Extracting windows from time series
Dear R Users Thanks for the help in advance and lets get straight to the problem: I have a 400 year long temperature time series and I am looking for decades that show a linear trend decrease of approximately -0.1 Kelvin or degrees. --> What I would like to program: A loop/function / command line that prints the values of all the trends (can also be overlapping) into a matrix that could have

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Ok, so just a follow-up to my last email; still following that guide, which is great…. Just stuck on getting the nut-server service starting automatically.  Got everything else working.  I’ve been able to get the nut-client starting up automatically at boot up (I had a missing “1” in upsmon.conf.  Oooops!)  However, I cannot get nut-server service to start-up automatically still. proton at

Outputting date as "1 day ago" or "53 minutes ago"
When printing out the results of my "updated_at" field, I''d like to be able to print it as "Updated 5 days ago" instead of "Updated on 7/14/06." I''ve seen many blogs do this, is there an easy way to do it through rails / ruby? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

I''m just getting back to looking at backgroundrb after a long hiatus since June. I''m looking at creating some workers but I''m a bit stuck as to how I should write tests for them. What''s the recommended approach for unit testing of workers? The project will ultimately be used by a Rails app but I''m comfortable developing the worker code as a

Time ago in words -- how to use in controller or model?
I have failed many times in figuring a way to make this work in my controller and/or model. Obviously works great in a view, but I was hoping to make use of it in other areas, not just the view. Thanks, Jeremy
