Install and run NUT driver netxml-ups under AIX 7.1
There is a problem with the installation and running NUT under AIX.
There is IBM server with AIX 7.1 and IBM 11000VA LCD 5U Rack UPS (Eaton)
with network management card.
This configuration uses driver netxml-ups.
NUT installed with neon and netxml-ups.
When triyng to start driver netxml-ups has the following output:

MGE NMC and NutShutdownModule (and other stuff)
Hi all,
some time ago I bought at discount price a NMC for managing a few
computers using the programmable outlets features available on my MGE
Evolution, unuseful otherwise (ATM). However, expecially for my server
machine, I don't like very much the NSM client provided by MGE/Eaton and
I'd rather use only NUT from my distribution. So, looking at the
netxml-ups driver, I started adding

What current UPS can I buy?

Good call on including the network gear in the power budget. NUT isn't much use to the slave systems if the network connection between master and slave goes down.

Samba 3.0.14 + W2K3 Terminal Services + terminal server profiles
hi,
does samba 3.0.14 supports terminal server profiles?
If not, is it planned?

problems with VFS_FAKE_PERMS
Hi,
I want to use the module VFS_FAKE_PERMS for roaming profiles. When I use the option "writeable = yes" (see config [1]) the user profiles are write
back the server (but they shouldn't, right?).
If I delete the writeable-option (see [2]) windows brings an error when logging off:
"Windows cannot update your roaming profile. Possible causes of this error include network

Hello,
does this bug still exists: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/IPyW4fzzpEetiWKnJyfJ ?
It seems that I have the same problem, although "store dos attributes" is set (Samba 3.6.18; GPFS 3.5.0-11).

Oops, this accidentally slipped in as well. This update changed the
behavior of the netxml-ups driver to allow a NSM-client only mode. In

Monitor Eaton 93PS UPS
Hello,
we try to use Network UPS tools to monitor a network connected Eaton
93PS UPS. It basically works but we get frequent "Data is stale -
check driver" warnings with a "data is no longer stale" shortly after
in the log. We tried both snmp-ups and netxml-ups driver and both
raise the same error. If have captured the communication between nut
and UPS but all

collection_select help
I can''t figure out how to get the collection_select to correctly
identify and select the appropriate option in the drop down to begin
with. i have checked that charge.offense_level contains the correct
value to begin with (a number between 1 and 10) but the view still
defaults to the first option and not the one contained in the
charge.offense_level. what am i doing wrong? any

drivers- dynamically adding filedescriptors to poll
Recent work on the netxml-ups driver made me realize that it would be
very useful to be able to dynamically add/remove file descriptors we
want to monitor for activity (instead of just a single extrafd). We'll
probably also need this, in order to support asynchronous I/O in
libusb-1.0. The latter would be a huge improvement over the existing
libusb-0.1 (compatibility) interface

NUT 2.6.3-3 Windows package
Hello all,
Thanks to early feedbacks from Dmitry Ogorodnikov, we have made a new
Windows package of NUT with previously missing DLLs allowing to run
netxml-ups and snmp-ups drivers as well as nut-scanner tool.
You can find it at :
http://www.networkupstools.org/source/2.6/NUT-Installer-2.6.3-3.msi
Please send feedback to the list.

Fred

Sure, but it is normal for packaging systems to build the entire
project, so that whatever someone wants is available, and thus depend on
the union of the dependencies. That's what

Further analysis it looks like the status string matches the q1 subdriver
but a lowercase "f" is sent to request it instead of "Q1\r". What do you
think?

Monitor Eaton 93PS UPS
I also operate an HP T1500 G3 which it's an Eaton made UPS. Connected on
usb i get frequent communication errors and data aquisition stopped. Mine
has a serial connection, also. Operating via serial has no trouble. Maybe
it's something related to usb setting in bios, i.e. Legacy mode, speed
setting, etc.
However on serial mode looks like the eaton or hoe power protector software
does not

Question about nut-dependencies
Packaging issues would be brought up with the distro... I have recently
worked with Homebrew on a Mac VM for the CI farm, but otherwise have no
clue about the ecosystem. Last saw/touched a physical Mac in school, 1994
or so :D
Upsmon as such has no need for XML (libneon et al); that would be
nut-scanner and the Eaton NetXML protocol driver.

Question about nut-dependencies
Well, NUT does "since forever" have reference docs on packaging into 8 or
so entities each with its dependency tree, so heavy stuff can be pulled in
on a need-to-have basis. As anything, it can be improved and updated, but
it is there and many systems follow it. Those who missed the memo... the
onus is on them.
The `nut-scanner` tool (and its lib) design using run-time `dlopen()` of
