Carsten, This is a common issue in technology when you have complex products that the majority of consumers of those products do not understand how they operate. If most UPS customers understood the importance of standardization they would have refused to purchase non-standard UPSes and all UPSes would have long ago standardized on a single management protocol. The normal thing is that product

Dear Developer and Tester, I love NUT, because of the great interoperability. So I have the choice and freedom on the operating system or the device. Many thanks on all developers and the manufacturer, they support with informations, material, wages and so on. Dear Hyouko, I am interested in to know, why every manufacturer use their own protocol. The USB Power Device protocol is already 20

You can either open a pull request/create a new issue on GitHub [1] or send a gzipped patch to this list. A quick read of the developer guide [2] should make it easier to get the code merged faster and to avoid possible problems.

New driver for UPSes manufactured by Voltronic Power
Hi there, I made a new driver, based on blazer, that should work with most of the UPSes manufactured by Voltronic Power - http://www.voltronicpower.com/oCart2/index.php?route=product/category&path=37- and rebranded as Atlantis Land, Cablematic, EPC, FSP, Mustek, SHT, Tuncmatik and many others (they come with a software called Viewpower - http://www.power-software-download.com/viewpower.html )

Many Thanks for your explanation, Ted! All the necessaries to produce (and live from) new UPS-Equippment I understand. Because of this I decided years ago to sell MGE-UPS. MGE did have the greatness to pay Arnaud Quette to improve the Metasoftware NUT. So we have one Software for brand new models and over 20years old IT dinosaur. We earn money with replacement of accumulators and save in

Programming Problem (for loop, random # control, 3 dimentional graph)
Dear List, This is just a programming problem which i cannot seem to figure out. I am trying to get a set of power from a test (say, kolmogorov smirnov) out of a distribution (say, G-K distribution) as follows. I am trying to reduce to pain of writing the whole set of data points (p# below) using "for" loop. However, I seem to have some problem in it as the output "M" does not

Salicru SPS One in Debian
Not of a big help here, but I think it's a voltronic power vesta 650: http://www.voltronicpower.com/oCart2/index.php?route=product/product&path=37&product_id=52 If that is the case, it should work both with the blazer drivers (i.e. all but the shutdown sequence) and with the now defunct voltronic ones. With arno's words: "We are currently merging a new driver to replace

Grandstream bin cfg.txt generator
Hi, I needed to create config files for downloading to Grandstream devices and made a little script for it. It seems to work fine for the HT486. The script needs a config file (cfg.in) which is in this format: P2 = blah P10 = hrm ...etc... The configfile may contain comments (starting with '#') and empty lines. Mind that the 'gnkey=0b82' shouldn't be in the configfile, as

fastthread no longer needed?
I''m confused. Wasn''t threading fixed in 1.8.6, negating the need for fastthread? Why is fastthread still a requirement of Mongrel? Just curious. :)

[UPS on Serial vs. USB] USB slow to update, serial instant.
When I disconnect my UPS from the wall, I have to wait 15-30 seconds before the USB drier 'polls' this information and tells me that the UPS is on battery power (via knutclient or syslog via nut): ups@p34 POWER ALERT on Fri Jan 26 12:49:29 EST 2007 With a serial connection, I would get the alerts IMMEDIATELY (0.5-1 seconds) after disconnecting the UPS. My new machine does not have a

You Will All Die In 1 Week (Mongrel To Require 1.8.6)
Hopefully that gets everyone''s attention. Evan Weaver has whined enough to make me do a release to change the requirements on the Mongrel gem so that it doesn''t need the cgi_multipart_eof_fix anymore. *************************** THIS ALSO MEANS THAT MONGREL WILL HAVE TO REQUIRE RUBY 1.8.6 OR GREATER! NO EXCEPTIONS! *************************** I know Debian guys like to hack

I have attached one example with a small dataset that calculates summary stats and percentiles, I have others that calculate upper confidence limits etc. I would like the output to be converted to a dataframe with one of the columns as the
