Sending Calls via SIP trunk from several different IP addresses from same Asterisk Machine, to the same destination IP
Hi! I would like to reopen a discussion that I saw a couple of years ago, with the subject "Sending Calls via SIP trunk from two different IP addresses from same Asterisk Machine" The use case is simpe: There are providers that want to see a separate source IP address for each of their customers SIP trunks. Now, if we have an asterisk box with several customers, we have a problem.

Lightweight ODBC DB
Glenn, I can't use MySQL as each node currently has MySQL however there is a lot of data that is stored locally on each box. I may have to take this route if I can't find something else but that would mean syncing all sorts of data that does not need to be synced. Installing Asterisk on MAC native
?I need to install Asterisk on a MAC, native, no virtualization. Has anybody done this? Are there documents on the Internet? I googled it and all web sites that claimed to help installing Asterisk on a MAC have disappeared. Is it possible at all? Digium should actually have a MAC app in the Apple store with a PBX. It should be a paid app. I would buy it right away. ? -------------- next part

Lightweight ODBC DB
Hi, I am running several Asterisk boxes with realtime around the world. Does anyone have a recommendation for a "light" db that would work with Asterisk that would also allow replication between all sites (so if I add an entry to one box it will work with the rest)? TIA. Understanding VDO vs ZFS
sorry corrections: For this test I created a 40GB lvm volume group with /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc then a 40GB LV then a 60GB VDO vol (for testing purposes) vdostats --verbose /dev/mapper/vdoas | grep -B6 'saving percent' output from just created vdoas [root at localhost ~]# vdostats --verbose /dev/mapper/vdoas | grep -B6 'saving percent' physical blocks : 10483712

Understanding VDO vs ZFS
Folks I'm looking for a solution for backups because ZFS has failed on me too many times. In my environment, I have a large amount of data (around 2tb) that I periodically back up. I keep the last 5 "snapshots". I use rsync so that when I overwrite the oldest backup, most of the data is already there and the backup completes quickly, because only a small number of files have

VDO killed my server
Folks I was impressed with the description of VDO (Virtual Device Optimizer?) in the RedHat documentaion, so much that I tried to use it. The tutorials led me to a few commands. I built a VDO device on top of two USB disks which I made into a Logical Volume, and I was ready to go. In my test case, I had a file set of about 600 GB. There was 5 TB of space between the two disk LVMs. So, I

MOH Oddity
I'm trying to setup my asterisk system for the least overhead as possible. My understanding (and experience with other systems) leads me to believe I can run any MOH using a certain class through a single 'player' as opposed to starting an independent stream for each MOH instance. However, try as I might, I can not get it to work. When I throw two calls into a queue, they are both

Using Asterisk to play Icecast streams
Steve, These are live streams of events so I can't simply rip the audio. As I mentioned at the end of my email putting in a sleep did help a bit however there are only so many streams Asterisk will grab nicely at once with out spiking the CPU. I also tinkered a bit with real time here is what I found: 1) If we have cachertclasses=no then Asterisk will only pull the stream if some one is

Problem with nlme package
Hello, I have installed the nlme package, but every time I try to use the function "summary.lme," I get a message that the function cannot be found. I've tried to install the package several times and have re-started R several times, but to no avail. I have also loaded the lme4 package, in case that makes a difference. I'm using R on a brand new Mac. Thank you!

Skipping problems on outgoing calls (using uLaw with an internal * server through Voxee)
Hello all, I am using a headset and the X-lite softphone (sometimes I use IAXComm, but I'm having difficulties using OSS emulation with it) to connect via uLaw to my internal Asterisk server, which is a Pentium II 400 with 128 megs of RAM. After getting this headset, most or all of the echo people on the other line were complaining about is now gone, according to them. However, every

I got it figured out now. In case anyone else comes across it - this is what I had to do: Sethdlc hdlc0 mode ansi Ifconfig hdlc0 up ***NO IP INFO SET*** Sethdlc hdlc0 create <dlci number> Ifconfig pvc0 <local ip> pointopoint <remote ip> up Then set your default gateway to the <remote ip> listed in pvc0. That's about it!! Hope it helps! -----Original

R Package: mmlcr and/or flexmix
Greetings I'm a relatively new R user and I'm trying to build a latent class model. I've used the 'R Site Search' and it appears there's not much dialogue on these packages On mmlcr, I've gotten it working, but not sure if I'm using it correctly. On flexmix, I can only seem to get results for one class. I'm attaching my code below - if anyone

Switching between Music on Hold streams. [13.8.2]
Thanks Joshua and everyone, Joshua's solution seems a lot simpler and works well. Only one thing now - The reason I named the classes as I did, was so that I could select the class based on callerID plus extension. Unless I've misread it, I'm limited to 9 switchable classes via the "digit=#" option, is that correct? Or is there a clever hack around this? extensions.conf
