unacceptable utility voltage rate of change
Hi, One of my APC devices reports: "unacceptable utility voltage rate of change". I believe it has something to do with input voltage fluctuating too fast maybe even beneath or over the input voltage thresholds. Should I worry about this? should I measure input voltage? (I suppose I'd need more than multimeter readings. Maybe an oscilloscope or a multimeter that can record

false low battery alarm
Hi, I have two types of UPS devices and one of them (APC) gave me a false "low battery" alert. I can't reproduce the problem... Also, there was nothing apparently wrong with the UPS at the time of the false alert. All I could do was grab the driver values within a minute after the "low battery" notification. These are the values: battery.runtime.low : 120

Driver: apcsmart, SMART-UPS 2200, battery.runtime status information?
Hello, We have a APC SMART-UPS 2200 which gives the following status information: battery.alarm.threshold: 0 battery.charge: 089.0 battery.charge.restart: 00 battery.date: 01/10/04 battery.packs: 000 battery.runtime: 21180 battery.runtime.low: 120 battery.voltage: 52.95 battery.voltage.nominal: 048 driver.name: apcsmart driver.parameter.pollinterval: 2 driver.parameter.port: /dev/ttyS0

"Battery constant" value for APC UPS
Hi all, Thought I'd forward this on, as the apcsmart driver doesn't appear to have any support for this (admittedly obscure) setting and it doesn't seem to be listed at http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/apcsmart.html. Hope someone finds it useful. Later, Russ -- Russell Odom http://www.gloomytrousers.co.uk/ Fast, cheap, good: pick two. -------- Original Message --------

My APC ups shutdown but doesn't start again
Hello, My APC Ups uses nut to manage all systems connected to it. But if online power failed until it shutdown, it not restart automatically after the power returned. It stay down until i restart it. When i execute the command: # upsc siUps1 it output me this: battery.alarm.threshold: L battery.charge: 018.0 battery.charge.restart: 15 battery.date: 03/31/07 battery.runtime: 120

APC Easy UPS
Hi: just got an APC UPS on hand. it's a strange new one, not smart-ups or back-ups. it's APC Easy UPS: https://www.schneider-electric.com/en/product-range/65883-easy-ups-on-line/ I don't know what's different. this series are all online UPS and they are cheap. it comes with serial and usb interface. with serial interface I can use apcsmart to connect. but with usb

Battery runtime not displaying
Thanks for the help, with the apcsmart-old driver it works again! Didn't notice my UPS is now so "old" ;-) Here is the output of upsc with apcsmart-old driver: battery.alarm.threshold: 0 battery.charge: 100.0 battery.charge.restart: 00 battery.date: 11/22/06 battery.packs: 001 battery.packs.bad: 000 battery.runtime: 540 battery.runtime.low: 120 battery.voltage: 53.73

APC SMART-UPS 1500 always reporting LB
Using nut v2.2.2, and the APC serial cable. I have a client who's APC SMART-UPS 1500 (circa 2000) is always reporting LB. The batteries were old so they were replaced two weeks ago with brand new batteries. UPS still reported low batteries... I ran a calibration and a test on the unit (using the nut upscmd utility) During those tests, the battery charge on the unit goes to zero and slowly

Problem to sort factor
Hello, I'm having a problem renaming and sorting the underlying factor of a ggplot2 based plot. Here's my code: ---8<---------- > delta <- ggplot(subset(data, Model==c("dyn", "dl4", "dl3")), aes(x=Problemsize, y=Fitness)) + geom_smooth(size=1, color="black", fill=alpha("blue", 0.2))+ geom_point(size=0.5,

Lines connecting the boxes in a boxplot
Hello, I'm currently using a boxplot to visualize data for three different models. As I have three models, I'm plotting three parallel boxplots for each factor. This works fine - what I need now is a line connecting the medians of each boxplot of each model. I want to do this in order to visualize the trend that one of the models exhibit. Basically, I want to plot a curve for each model

avoiding expression evaluation when calling a function
Another question on functions - I have something that looks like plotter<-function(i){ temp.i<-rwb[rwb$vector1 <=(i*.10),] with(temp.i, plot(vector2, vector3, main=(i*.10),)) mod<-lm(vector3~vector3-1,data=temp.i) r2<-summary(mod)$adj.r.squared rsqrd[i]<-r2 legend("bottomright", legend=signif(r2), col="black") abline(mod) rsqrd<<-rsqrd } I'd

Format of numbers in plotmath expressions.
I want to do something like: TH <- sprintf("%1.1f",c(0.3,0.5,0.7,0.9,1)) plot(1:10) legend("bottomright",pch=1:5,legend=parse(text=paste("theta ==",TH))) Notice that the final "1" comes out in the legend as just plain "1" and NOT as "1.0" although TH is [1] "0.3" "0.5" "0.7" "0.9"

mysterious extra spaces appearing in expression paste
Hi, i'm trying to put a legend on some figures and they're coming out a bit wonky. here's an example: a <- c(1:10) par(mfrow=c(2,1)) plot(a,type="s",lwd=3) leg <- c(expression(paste("data1 (",rho,"=1)")), expression(paste("data2 (",rho,"=0.0)"))) legend("bottomright",legend=leg,col=c(1,2),lwd=3)

indexing in a function doesn't work?
Hello, I've written a small function that's supposed to save me some time, and it's ending up killing it- the intention is to iteratively subset a dataset fram on framevec, fit a model (either lm or nls depending on type) and return the r2 or AIC from the model, respectively. Although as far as I can tell in my code the plots are dependent on the fit of the model to the data and the

Creating png of layered legend
I am trying to create a plot that has multiple plot characters for each point (e.g. a point within a triangle, a triangle within a square, etc). The workaround I have found to do this is by plotting twice, as in this example: x <- c(1.1, 2.3, 4.6) y <- c(2.0, 1.6, 3.2) plot(x, y) points(x,y, pch=20, col="red", cex=0.5) This works, but perhaps there is a better way to do it in one

How to treat UPS status of TRIM as on line
I am using NUT 2.6.5 as part of FreeNAS 9.2.0. I am using an APC Smart-UPS 5000 RM DL4 with a AP9619 network management card. NUT properly detects when the UPS goes on battery and initiates a shutdown after the configured time. The problem I have is that I am using a 208V unit on a 240V circuit. That means the normal state for the UPS is "TRIM". NUT doesn't treat that as an on line

manipulating (extracting) data from distance matrices
Hi all, Does anyone have any tips for extracting chunks of data from a distance matrix? For instance, if one was interested in only a subset of distance comparisons (i.e., that of rows 4 thru 6, and no others), is there a simple way to pull that data out? >From some playing around with an example (below), I've been able to figure out that a distance matrix in R is stored as a single

Random Forest AUC
Guys, I used Random Forest with a couple of data sets I had to predict for binary response. In all the cases, the AUC of the training set is coming to be 1. Is this always the case with random forests? Can someone please clarify this? I have given a simple example, first using logistic regression and then using random forests to explain the problem. AUC of the random forest is coming out to be
